Revision as of 18:45, 19 October 2010
I added this to the page. seb26 [talk] 01:08, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- You will probably get this by buying the new DLC - The Sacrifice for L4D or L4D2, but that's just my guess.CANPoo 13:26, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Doubt it, since the DLC is free. BarnabasHale 14:29, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Or maybe..another we get it by doing a achievement? Rong 13:50, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- The hat, at this time, is not being rewarded from completing the "Supreme Sacrifice" achievement for either L4D or L4D2. I have completed both, and at the time of writing this, received nothing. Hobolegs 22:55, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- I also have the "Kill Bill" achievement, and no hat from that either. The survivors are missing dialogue in the sacrifice though, despite the sound files being there, so maybe it will come after they do the patch that fixes their update. Vercci 23:49, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Has anyone yet tried finishing the No Mercy campaign in L4D2? Mrnoj 07:04, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
It might also be worth noting that the default color of the hat doesn't match up to how Ellis' hat looks in L4D2. Ensign Epic 17:34, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
I can't see the skeleton with the hat on the sacrifice web page. Does anyone have a screenshot?
17:36 6-10-10 (UTC) someone else notice that there are many bats in the campaing ? conclusion sandman ?
- I have noticed that there are a lot of bats in several of the stages in l4d2. I wouldn't consider that too odd. Mrnoj 18:55, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Paintable
It's odd, really. The value is at "1" in items_game.txt, but there's no change in the paint preview. Overall, it looks average.
-- Vi3trice (talk) 16:25, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- The item is not paintable. The material's .vmt does not contain the code required to make the item paintable. I had set the tags of this article to unpaintable because in its current state it is impossible to apply paint to it. This change was reverted in revision 11187 by RedError 404. Initial Quote
Just a sugeration: I think that the line "Hey, this is like TF2!" fits better. And... doesnt say bad words. Personally, I find that a little shocking with the article style. Just an opinion. Sr Domi 19:53, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- "And now, he is here to fuck us!" --The Spy. Though I do think the quote you have suggested would be a lot funnier. -- En Ex (talk) 20:00, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I think that the line "This is like TF2" in an obvious TF2 wiki would be funny and a reference about this game in another game would be better and fits greatly. Sr Domi 20:19, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Trivia Addition
- Do you think we should add the fact this is given out alongside the frying pan? Or, in the article after 4pm tomorrow, we can say "...<It> was given out alongside the Frying Pan to commemorate L4D 2's mac update." And somewhere we add the blog post links for TF2: http://teamfortress.com/post.php?id=4441&p=1 and L4D 2: http://www.l4d.com/blog/post.php?id=4438
Note: I put this here because I haven't made an official post before, and I want to do it correctly.
Irritated
So far, I haven't been able to get this hat. I've owned Left 4 Dead 2 for several months. Are we -sure- it's being awarded to pre-owners? I'm more than slightly anxious. --Fragment of Nothing 00:07, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yes. It might take some time, there's a lot of players that have to be processed. -RJ 00:15, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- My brother got the cap and frying pan, and he's owned L4D2 for a while. Seen here: [1] (He hasn't played yet to get them properly put into the backpack.) I haven't gotten mine yet, but I now have definite proof that they're going out to those who already own the game. I guess all we can do is wait until they process everyone... I'd expect them to all be out within a week or two. Will-T 22:36, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah I preordered the game and I'm still waiting on mine.--Jordan 15:15, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- Same. I preordered this game before it came out (got Bill's Hat) and I have yet to receive the hat or the frying pan. I still have patience left within me to wait a couple more days... if I don't get it then, I guess I will contact Valve and see what's up. Pwrkaril 19:05, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't have mine either, I suppose they are going backwards from the people who just got the game in the promotion all the way to the folks who pre-ordered it. Hopefully it wont take too long to do though Scatmanjohn 19:10, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, it's been dropping late for a lot of people. But this is not a place to complain to Valve about the drop system, and it is not a forum either, so please discuss this outside of the Wiki. Thanks :3 — Wind 20:32, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's written on the item page: "anyone who owned Left 4 Dead 2 prior to the announcement would receive the item within a few days of the initial release". So they're giving the 2 items to the new owners first and go back the list, it might take some time. As a matter of fact, I just bought it, and it took 3 days to find them... So just be patient. This Hat
Provides the Scout with such a defined wrinkly forehead and perverted face, I will be naming it 'Wrinkly Pervert Hat'. That is all.--Focusknock 08:31, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Page Problem
Is it just me or does the Hat details change from page where the hat info is shown to discussion? Page says not able to trade while this page says it can be. If asked I will upload the Print Screen Picture. Ninja0Pain 01:09, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- This is the discussion page. The Ellis' Cap is not able to be traded. General coolio 01:11, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Trading
I realize that the October 12th patch notes say that the hat and pan are tradable but they're still un-tradable ingame as of October 19. Spar13 18:43, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
