What does this weapon do again?
The weapon takes 10 health away from its user, but retains up to 20% of the Medic's ÜberCharge if he dies. This is equivalent to 8 seconds of healing with the Medigun on hurt targets. Despite logic, only 20% of the Medic's ÜberCharge before death is added (meaning if a Medic dies with 40% ÜberCharge, they will respawn with 8% ÜberCharge).
Is that true? I interpret the item description that if a medic dies with 40%, he spawns with 20%. (Also I'm not really happy with the wording of 'despite logic') --CruelCow 16:43, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
The description is wrong, and you are right, CruelCow. It retains 20% ubercharge, not 20% of your current ubercharge. So if you die with 10% uber, you respawn with 10% uber. If you die with 25% uber, you respawn with 20% uber. --gel
I have tried this weapon out today, and I can confirm that it does keep exactly 20% ubercharge if you have more than or equal to 20% when you die. Otherwise, it keeps whatever lower amount you have. --Ashsflames 02:03, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Übersaw effect?
Does this weapon add 25% Ubercharge with each successful melee hit a la Übersaw, or is it like the regular Bonesaw?

Uber Retain Glitch

Vita Saw's Origins
- The Vita Saw was a skin for the Ubersaw named the "Gentztucken Battle Needle"; this bit of trivia may spike some people's interests.

New Images?
Since this item's textures was altered with the last update, there should probably be new images to better represent what it looks like now. I personally don't notice a difference, but there apparently is one, so it might be worth updating the images to be as accurate as possible Balladofwindfishes 00:57, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- The textures weren't updated, but the model was. When Valve added it to the game, the model had smoothing issues that made look horrible depending on the lighting, with highlights in the wrong places and such. A fix was sent, and they added it in the paint update. So yeah, new images are needed. IdleTard 16:38, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Name Reference
Since we include mention of its Bioshock origin, would it be worth noting that the name "vita saw" comes from the Bioshock "vita-chambers" which allow the player to respawn? Obviously, the chambers have a direct connection to the function of the saw, seeing as they're associated with death/respawn. Lacysophia 23:16, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

- Yes, it is. However, the fact that the saw itself is a direct reference to the game makes me suspect that the name may be as well. New Demonstration

The Store issue
Should the fact that this can be considered the only "Non-promotional" weapon to not be featured in the Mann Co. Store be mentioned in trivia? I'm just making sure, but there is the possibility that like the Promotional weapons, the fact that this is similar to the Bioshock weapon prevents it from being featured in the store, though it isn't specified.

I feel it ties in with the theme better and provides a good alternative to a generic saw pun.
To clarify, it is acceptable for a different class to provide commentary on another class' weapon, such as the Hibernating Bear set and the Spy-cicle, as well as having an outside reference. 18:22, 6 May 2012 (PDT)
- It isn't bad, and we're lucky to have a quote of a class saying "would you kindly" at all. The only think I can think of suggesting is that maybe the flavor text be reworked a bit; perhaps linking "point" to mean the point of the needle, rather than the control point to which it actualy refers to.
