The Hitman's Heatmaker is a community-created primary weapon for the Sniper. It is a somewhat stubby sniper rifle, fitted with a sleek scope, a wooden stock with a brown leather rest, and a suppressor attached to its barrel. A laser sight with a small metal switch on its rear can be seen just below the scope.
The weapon features a "Focus" bar, which begins empty and can be completely filled with 3 kills, 9 assists, or a combination thereof; kills or assists made with other weapons still contribute to the bar. Once the bar is filled to any degree (i.e. not empty), pressing the reload key (default R) will activate Focus mode for up to 10 seconds, based on the amount the Focus bar is filled, signified by the Sniper's weapons crackling as if crit-boosted but without the glow. While focused, the weapon charges 25% faster, does not need to unscope between shots (allowing it to continue charging while reloading), and fires tracer rounds similar to the Machina. Kills or assists made while focused continue to add to the bar as it drains, making it possible to extend indefinitely. Unlike the majority of mechanics that feature a chargable bar, focus can be activated at any time, without requiring the bar to be filled to completion.
As a downside, the weapon deals 20% less damage on bodyshots and unscoped shots, meaning it is not guaranteed to kill any class without equipped maximum health modification weapons with a fully-charged bodyshot. Cosmetically, successful headshot kills will decapitate the victim. The noise produced when firing is greatly reduced, making it harder for your target to find you by ear, and reducing the chance that one of his teammates will hear and come to his aid.
The Hitman's Heatmaker was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "Feather Duster".
