The Scout drops into the Pit of Death at the wrong time, and then he accepts his fate.

Pit of Death is a community-made Player Destruction map added in the Scream Fortress 2016 update.

The objective for the map is that both teams must kill players for souls and sacrifice souls inside the house's front yard area of the ghostly dimension. A team wins upon successful sacrifice ritual of a set number of souls. The amount varies depending on the number of players currently in the server.

Gameplay

The goal of each team is to collect souls dropped from dead players and deposit them in the house's front yard area of the ghostly dimension to score points for their teams. To enter in the ghostly dimension, players must drop into the portal (where the pit of death is) during the event. To exit out from that dimension, players must enter into the house's entrance which cause them return to the normal dimension with speed boost and quick self-healing (no overheal or under the effect of an ÜberCharge).

The non-Spy player on each team with the most souls also becomes the "Team Leader", making them dispense health and ammo to themselves and nearby teammates at the rate of a level 1 Dispenser. The player's HUD will display a gold star (Importtool goldstar.png) next to the current number of souls carried. The Team Leader status also gives a team-colored outline visible through walls that can be seen by both teams with a soul number counter. If the "Use Glow Effect for Payload Objectives" is not selected in the Advanced Options, only the numbers will be visible to the player.

Collected souls will be dropped on the ground if a player tries to carry them into a resupply area, and can also be dropped manually by pressing the drop-item button (Default key: L).

Once one team scores enough points to win (the number scales based on the amount of players at the start of the round), all players are stunned and the winning team gets a crit-boost.
