Changes in availability

Hi,

Others may have covered this with you, but changes in an item are generally not notable and so are not Trivia, ( unless it is really notable, like historic game breaking/major rebalancing in which case it is still not Trivia because the changes should be discussed in the Patch page). Also, any change history is not Trivia since it is completely covered by Update histroy. Also, be careful commenting on common availability conditions, because they are common (now news). Alright, it doesn't seem very obvious anywhere though for new users that a few hats could bypass their "untradeable"ity by gift wrapping them (since they were still giftable) that's why I thought it would be worth mentioning but I understand what you mean, thank you. Cream Tea (talk) 00:08, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
One posible place for such discussion could be Gift Wrap, but according to the Update history, untradeable items cannot be Gift Wrapped as of 2017. If someone can write knowledgeable and authoritatively about Valve's original intents for Gift Wrap as well as the reason for the 2017 change, then Gift Wrap would be the place to do so. I assumed that the (original) point of Gift Wrap was to be able to trade untradeable items for a fee, but now it is nothing more than a way to spend money to trade, in case using free trading to send a gift is too Poor and Irish.
