外星入侵社群更新（Invasion Community Update）是一個於2015年10月6日釋出的社群創作主要更新。以社群製作的 Source Filmmaker 預告片為開頭，更新增加了 4 張新地圖（其中一張是外星主題版本的 2Fort）、16 個新裝飾品、4 種武器的不同外表、9 種新的入侵主題異常粒子效果、以及 1 個新嘲諷。此外附加在更新內的是外星入侵更新通行券，可讓玩家購買並資助更新背後的社群團隊，並讓玩家自身有機會獲得更新期間才有的補給箱。

相關細節

  • 在更新影片裡撥放的外星人電影是模仿自1950年代真實存在的三流低成本電影的產物。
  • 在絕地要塞２播客組織 KritzKast 正式公布更新前幾個月，更新就已經在各處顯露蹤跡了，
    • 在 KritzKast 的 Meet Your Makers 頁面中，有一張飛碟的模糊影像。
    • 頁面還包括了頭戴小精靈頭飾或吸腦蟲之類物體的火焰兵的X光片。
    • 點擊 Meet Your Makers 頁面左下方的二進制程式碼螢幕就可以進入一個螢幕上寫著「他們正在看著...」（"They're watching..."）訊息的隱藏頁面。這訊息是模仿自影集<X檔案>的產物。
  • 9月13日時，更新在 Brett Kennedy 的 YouTube 頻道上以名為 "midnight showing" 的前導影片悄悄公布。
    • 於此影片中撥放了一段以摩斯密碼呈現的訊息。訊息翻譯的結果是：「噗皮喬是我們安插的內應」。
    • 影片背景有撥放一段廣播。具雜訊的廣播內容是 KritzKast 廣播短劇中的新聞內容：「KKBC：沒有人會相信」。
    • 影片中一瞬間出現的畫面中有一個外星符號有。符號看起來和更新釋出預告裡出現的麥田圈圖樣相同，唯一的差別在於前導影片的這個符號中間，有個絕地要塞２的標誌。
