Hello, Jones Edison!
Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Jones Edison to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Jones Edison/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Category
Hi there,
There's no need to add the category link itself, it's already linked at the bottom.
GrampaSwood (talk) 16:59, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- i guess lol
- though i think it would be more visible if the part of the page referencing its sound making properties linked to the list itself
- i had no idea that the "category:items that make sound" page existed untill just now, i had just been trying to find theese items by searching the wiki for "sound" and "noise" and "jingle"
- thank you so much for helping me and being patient with me btw
- Jones Edison (talk) 17:08, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- Could look into figuring something out for that, similar to how Jigglebones are linked.
- Also it's no issue, wiki can be complicated for new users.
GrampaSwood (talk) 17:11, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- that would be perfect!
- also im trying to make another edit to "Editing Team Fortress Wiki:Discussion" and getting the "Support bot spam" error again
- "Having a master category of all items with special effects would be useful, as no such list exist.
- Counting "Ball-kicking boots" ball spawning effect, "handy laurel", and the "Treasure hat" generating coin particles, plus the established groups of items that relate to pyroland, and those who make noise.
- Item set effects would also be a subcategory of this list"
- Jones Edison (talk) 17:19, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- the lumbricus lid should be on the list of "items that make noise", and on my meta "special item list"
- and my "special item list" would also contain all items that get assists in pyrovision, and possibly jigglebones
- and i see that that would make my list especially long, but i guess it could be just a set of sets
- so it may just be better to make a "List of item effects", with links to lists, like the "list of cosmetic items that make noise"
- then you could make unusuals a subcategory of this list of item effects
- Jones Edison (talk) 06:41, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
- Currently this is the list of items that I've come up with so far. Items with an unusual effect that are not listed may be a separate list, but it would be a very long one with a lot of work to keep up. They won't be included in that list, as this page already lists them all.

- This is perfect! It was pretty much exactly what i had in mind when i first suggested making such a list c:
- Having the list laid out and visible like this is really practical, some of thheese effects i barely remembered existed!
- I have just done some science on items that make sound as you walk, the "Bootie time" has a higher pitch when you walk than all the others, and "Elf defense" has a slightly lower pitch, barely noticable
- And wearing several cosmetics seem to raise the pitch to "Bootie time"'s
- I have not checked all the cosmetics with eachother, on all classes, but it seems to be the rule from what ive seen
- The pitch of cosmetic jingling does not seem to vary based on class, or speed. It just happens that the fast class (scout) has a high pitch cosmetic, and the slower class (soldier) has a lower pitch cosmetic, and that pitch is on cosmetic basis, rather than on speed
- I think it would be worthy of note to say that the walking sound of "Ball-kicking boots" / "Sprinting cephelapod" do stack with eachother, but the jingling sounds do not accompany eachother and stack, however they add for the pitch(???)
- Also i think we should do like the page for particle effects where we just link to the page for unusuals, and the jiggbone list if we need to include such expansive list.
- Having the list sorted by the nature/type of the effect, rather than class may be more neat, and digestible
- Also it would be nice to somehow incorporate the Saharan spy tornado taunt effect (wich i just checked, it doesnt seem to make any sound lol) into the list, in addition to other set effects. However, information about item set effects is much easier to find than item effects, as they are all listed on the Item sets page
- Again, thank you c: and thank you for making the cosmetics with effects page easy to edit
