I saw that there was no mention of what you get if the unusual effect you submit and get accepted was a taunt,do you just get an unusual cap that uses a taunt effect instead of a hat effect or is there a specific taunt you get for your self-made taunt? | I saw that there was no mention of what you get if the unusual effect you submit and get accepted was a taunt,do you just get an unusual cap that uses a taunt effect instead of a hat effect or is there a specific taunt you get for your self-made taunt? | ||

Fun Fact:
There are also Self-Made bundles. It is unkowen the requirments to obtain one. One could assume you will have to contribute an item towards a bundle. ScottishDrunkard (talk) 12:23, 14 January 2015 (PST)
Phong
Does Self-Made items also got the phong alteration like the Community quality? If so, that information is missing on the page. ▪ - 11:38, 20 March 2015 (PDT)
- As far as I'm aware they don't, seeing as I'm pretty sure that most items don't have the VMT lines relating to it. I think that Valve removed the VMT lines relating to the phong change for the rest of the items when they added Killstreaks anyway, though it's pretty hard to actually check whether or not the phong change still works. The c_model changes could have also removed (or not included) those lines for some items as well. --Omolong (talk) 11:05, 21 March 2015 (PDT)
- Alright, thanks. There are some servers that you can use any qualities and items, but I may check the .vmt files for each weapon (at least stock ones) to see if they removed the phong lines. If not, I'll add a table with weapons that has their phong increased if they're in Community quality, if you think if that's a good idea to add on the page. ▪ - 11:15, 21 March 2015 (PDT)
- Make sure to check the proxy section of the VMTs for the CommunityWeapon proxy, as that's what really controls whether or not an item has the phong change. The rest of the VMT lines relating to that just say what the phong should be changed to (or how much it's changed by, I've never really looked into which it is). If you can confirm that the items do have a phong change, then it probably would be better to have a table rather than just a category to list the items. --Omolong (talk) 11:23, 21 March 2015 (PDT)
- They don't seem to be on Proxies, but they're on the beginning of the .vmt. Does that count too? (This part was found on c_scattergun and w_scattergun.vmt):
"$commadd_phongexponent" "30"
"$commadd_phongboost" "22.5"
"$commweapon" "0"

- Based on the community quality page, it does require the CommunityWeapon proxy. It should probably be tested ingame to see if it does still need that proxy or not, though. --Omolong (talk) 12:02, 21 March 2015 (PDT)
- I'll try find someone that is a community weapon owner. However, someone added the AWPer Hand to the Category, even there is no proxy (possibly there was before? I don't know. A community AWPer Hand does not exist either, based on stats.tf statistics). I'll investigate that later, thanks. ▪ - 12:12, 21 March 2015 (PDT)

What are you given if your unusual effect was a taunt?
