Community announcers are non-player characters that provide announcer voice cues during gameplay that were not officially created by Valve.

- Davy Jones
- The line "Are ye ready kids?" is a reference to the children television show Spongebob Squarepants's opening song.
- The line "We are in the ship!" is a reference to the Watergate Announcer voice line "We are in the beam".
- The line "After nine years of waiting in the Locker for help, I wasn't expecting much. But that was horrendous!" is a reference to the developer commentary, in which Gabe Newell says that "after nine years [of Team Fortress 2 being] in development, hopefully it will have been worth the wait".
- Toastmaster
- The line "Welcome to die." is a reference to the line said by Magneto in the 1992 X-Men arcade game.
- Professor Bigginsize
- The line "You know a noble growth ray embiggens the smallest man..." is a reference to the motto of the fictional town of Springfield in The Simpsons: "A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man."
- The Fisherman
- The line "The Seals say, 'So long and thanks for all the fish!'" is a reference to a line spoken by the dolphins in the Douglas Adams radio comedy and book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as well as the title of the fourth book in the series.
