: I think the earlier discussions presumed the page was about a mod, and were more concerned about notability (which it passed), not as a host for the community workgroup's server documentation (which was not realized or discussed).  I think we should discuss the question. We have let them use the wiki for this service for some time without enforcing the policy, so, we should tread lightly as we decide to enforce the policy now. As I say "tread lightly", I ''do not'' mean to give them the pass or let them be grandfathered.

Notability

As for most mods, i don't think this "mod" really deserves a page yet. The notability of it and popularity has yet to even take notice. Only mention was on Kritkast but that only accounts for just a bit of the community and not a whole lot of it. Ashes (talk) 23:05, 27 August 2015 (PDT)

The word is slowly spreading. The steam group is currently at 3,162 members and views for the 2 trailers are at 141,254 & 74,145 views. So far Kritkast mentioned this and FUNKe (TF2 youtuber) has talked/played on the server(s). I did talk to 2 people from AW to allow us to use AW weapons as long as we give credit (in which I already do give credit). I also asked if someone could make an announcement about Advanced Weaponiser is back, but in a slightly different form. It just needs a couple other promotion to spread the word. Crafting (talk) 10:11, 18 November 2015 (PST)

Could you link the videos please? --User Dr. Scaphandre Golden Ghastly Gibus.png Dr. Scaphandre Item icon Captain Space Mann.png 10:47, 18 November 2015 (PST)

Trailer 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLD5yeJY6Rk Trailer 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izXqRkc-4sw

These are on Karma Charger's youtube. He also wanted to do the same thing that I wanted to set up, but I was already prepared most of the weapons at that time. So he is mostly the promoter. Crafting (talk) 10:54, 18 November 2015 (PST)

Although it may have many views and members, Its hard to say its notable based on "Video views and membership". Its about community playability, # of servers etc. And if its still being worked on, I don't think its even notable as its kind of advertising a "Hey this mod is being worked on, check it out" sort of page. I would say that it be on a user subpage first and not its own page until its either fully done or gets more notability. Ashes (talk) 12:13, 18 November 2015 (PST)

True, the features that are doing working on:

  • custom wearables (as in demo shields)
  • better sound replacement (heavy miniguns at the moment can't be replaced, but that is fixed)
  • after you equip a weapon, it tells you in chat (only you see the message)
  • a very organized menu system

There is more, the to-do list is in the middle..... (the mod hasn't been updated in 1 month due to Chdata being busy)

There is also a trello.....

The servers I have planned, but once I get donating set up.....

  • Server #1 USA Custom Weapon Server (30 player, with 2 reserve slots)
  • Server #2 Luxembourg Custom Weapon Server (24 player)
  • Server #3 USA Freak Fortress (24 player)
  • Server #4 USA Stop that Tank (24 player)
  • Server #5 USA MvM Server 1
  • Server #6 USA MvM Server 2
  • Server #7 Canada Custom Weapon Server (24 player)

But anyway, maybe after sometime I will update on the process of this project.Crafting (talk) 12:44, 18 November 2015 (PST)

I'm sorry but I'm still not seeing it. The player base for this mod is so small that it doesn't really warrant an article. We're an official wiki first and foremost. Mod content comes second, and only certain mods go through.
What I recommend for the time being is like Ashes suggested and copy all the data for the page onto a user sandbox page and update it slowly as time goes on, then if/when the mod becomes notable enough to warrant an article, then paste it all back in. As it stands, I don't see why this page should exist. --User Dr. Scaphandre Golden Ghastly Gibus.png Dr. Scaphandre Item icon Captain Space Mann.png 13:08, 18 November 2015 (PST)

Alright, thanks for talking with you two. Crafting (talk) 13:35, 18 November 2015 (PST)

What on Earth is this mod?

I have to agree with Ashes. I've never heard of this mod and question it's credibility. --Dr. Scaphandre (talk) 14:04, 30 September 2015 (PDT)

This mod is basically Advanced Weaponiser without the restrictions. We have original weapons along with some of the AW weapons, I did talk to 2 people from AW to allow us to use AW weapons as long as we give credit (in which I already do give credit). There are 2 trailers out for our server(s) that is linked on the main page on the steam group. The mod is still currently being worked on, it is mostly being worked on Chdata, one of the developers for VS. Saxton Hale. This mod adds "new" weapons into the game by using official attributes and custom-made attributes that are coded by SourcePawn. Here are links to community made attributes.... https://forums.alliedmods.net/showpost.php?p=2193855&postcount=254 https://forums.alliedmods.net/showpost.php?p=2193263&postcount=252 https://forums.alliedmods.net/showpost.php?p=2121002&postcount=121 https://forums.alliedmods.net/showpost.php?p=2342151&postcount=558 Crafting (talk) 09:54, 18 November 2015 (PST)

Should the cvars be removed?

The latest edit (11:39, 10 April 2017) reworked the page, also removing the cvars. While I'm not sure about the other edits, I feel like the cvars should be kept. ⇒Leaderboard class spy.png Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 15:58, 10 April 2017 (PDT)

Hey, I am the main admin from the official group (along with the official YouTube channel). I was just cleaning up the page since I was adding the up-to-date information. I can include a 2nd link at the top that goes to the Allied forums that has the commands (and cvars). -Crafting
Alright, sounds good. ⇒Leaderboard class spy.png Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 10:22, 12 April 2017 (PDT)

Can this page be renamed to just "Custom Weapons"

The reason that it is "Custom Weapons 2" was because at the time it was in the second version of the plugin. Now it's in the 4th version, and I would think it would be better to keep it simple to just "Custom Weapons".

I am currently updating information on this page and I will be officially announcing that we have a wiki page on August 12 when we start to celebrate our 2-year anniversary. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ctf2w

Crafting

Since you're the creator, and as long as a wiki page for the first version of the plugin doesn't exist, I'd say go ahead. You'll have to contact a moderator/admin to get it done, though, or maybe you could just create Custom Weapons and mark this one for deletion with {{del|moved}}.
By the way, you can sign your comments with ~~~~, it will be automatically turned into your signature, like mine: ⇒Leaderboard class spy.png Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 07:33, 11 August 2017 (PDT)
If you'd like to request to have it moved - please use the move template {{move}} and we'll review it further. Also before we even initiate that, can you please link some evidence regarding it's popularity. This includes server listings and videos from reputable sources. I noticed you mentioned Karmacharger so if you could link that too. Ashes (talk) 07:42, 11 August 2017 (PDT)

One last thing to mention, our player count is somewhat low during this time due to server crashes. At this time, we haven't figured out the problem. I might be changing server provider, if that happens then all of our IPs will change. Crafting (talk) 22:44, 18 August 2017 (PDT)

When will this move happen? It's been 2 months since I did the request. Crafting (talk) 09:43, 14 October 2017 (PDT)
I feel like the TF2 wiki is at a relatively inactive stage right now. I marked a blank page (List of useful console commands/zh-hans) for deletion some time ago and it's still there. ⇒Leaderboard class spy.png Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 13:06, 14 October 2017 (PDT)
Pictogram plus.png Support (I figure it is because no one commented.) Since it seems the page is being kept, you have a reasonable arguement for moving. Mikado282 (talk) 13:24, 14 October 2017 (PDT)
Thank you for your responses! I basically want to move it to remove the "2" in the title to keep the title simple. This wiki page was originally made by Trikalort (Orion), one of my original TF2 coder. Crafting (talk) 09:26, 16 October 2017 (PDT)

Thanks! Also, was it alright for me to fix the title in the "Team Fortress 2 community modifications" at the bottom of the page to remove the "2"? Crafting (talk) 12:23, 18 October 2017 (PDT)

Possible edit regarding Stacks bugs

I noticed that the Bugs section of this page does not mention that Stacks or Heads on certain weapons reset when using Resupply: the Vanguard, the Dullahan, and the Full Throttle are the examples I can remember. Oddly enough, the Eyelander is an exception, despite its Heads mechanic being changed. I assume that I can just edit this, but having just signed up for this, I would like input from my fellow editors.

If you want to add a bug you'll have to provide proof in the form of an image or video, and submit said proof in the edit summary.

Got it - I'll try getting some footage today. Lucky Lugia (talk) 15:48, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

About this mod

Apparently, this page documents how the mod is used only on the listed server, rather than every single server that actually hosts the plugin. This means that all the information regarding this mod is actually not applicable to the plugin, but only the server itself (essentially just serving as a documentation for this server).
