Image Categories

Hello, when uploading item skin images like what you did with the Beaten and Bruised they were lacking categories, in future please use {{subst:isd}} for item skin images, thank you!

Suggestion for bird crimes

hmmm, it's an interesting thought. I see the vision, but I just don't think I should really be in the business of "awarding" bird criminals for their actions. If you run a red light the cop doesn't pull you over to congratulate you and give you a ribbon for the great crime you just did. Howdy! I'm kind of new to the wiki and I would wanna ask if I could assist with the painted variant projects and other paints missing or needs updating! I would love to help out on this! KingK (talk) 14:10, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

Yeah you can definitely help with the paints. I don't think the wiki has an updated guide for it though (I should probably work on that). It's a pretty involved process. As far as I'm aware the model viewer still doesn't open after the 64bit update so you will need to do a couple things to get it working. That should get hlmv and hlmv++ working. If you load a model in hlmv++ and use these script files it should paint the cosmetic automatically and take images of each one. Then you need to convert each image to PNG and crop them. We use the Batch image manipulation plugin for GIMP so it can do them all in one go instead of doing each by hand. Once each image has been cropped and converted you can upload them to the wiki. If you are uploading the first version of an image you need to put {{subst:pid}} in the summary so it has the proper categories and everything. That's the short version and a basic overview of the process. I'll try to update the actual guide on the wiki. If you have any questions or encounter any problems let me know.
