Summer 2024 Update translation

Hi there,

I've changed some stuff in your recent translation in this edit. Please see the link on the changes I made. They are mainly with the {{Main}} template. To translate links there, the parameter l1= should be used to change the displayed text, instead of showing Main article: Cosmetic items/it it would show Main article: Decorazioni. Another thing I changed was the Patches link, for any links with sections in them (which are links that contain a #), the language code should be before the #.

On your recent translations

Hello, Bun Bun.

While I don't speak Italian, I trust you're doing a good job with your translation work. However, I've noticed you keep making some mistakes, as well as inconsistencies with existing articles, which I'd like to point out so you can improve your contributions in the future.

Although most infobox parameteres have automated translation, some don't. One such parameter is prefix - something nearly all cosmetic items have in Italian ("La", "Gli", "I", etc.) and all taunts have in all languages ("Taunt:"). As the loadout section of the infobox seeks to imitate the in-game info pop-up window for items, this should be present whenever an item has "The" in its name - the exception is when it has L' instead, which requires loadout-name instead, as prefix adds a space after it (example: prefix = L' on Desk Engineer/it would result in L' Ingegnere da Scrivania when the correct name is L'Ingegnere da Scrivania, which can be done through loadout-name = L'Ingegnere da Scrivania or L'{{item name|Desk Engineer}}.

While not required, it is recommended to use translation templates like {{item name}} and {{update link}} whenever possible. This results in the correct name always being displayed, as well as the page being automatically translated in case the item's name ever undergoes a change (which can be as small as fixing a typo or as big as a complete rename, like the name Market Gardener being renamed in Spanish from "El Jardinero" to "El Hortelano"), as well as generally being more convenient when it comes to links (such as {{item link|Hat of Undeniable Wealth And Respect}} instead of [[Hat of Undeniable Wealth And Respect/it|Cappello dalla Ricchezza e Rispetto Innegabili]]).

Speaking of links, you frequently missed the language code (/it) in some links (occasionally when linking to the Steam Workshop article and frequently when linking to the Summer 2024 Update in the Update history), which is another reason why it is recommended to use translation templates when possible. You're also incorrectly translating links that lead to a specific section in an article: if a link has # in it, it means it's linking to a specific section, not just the start of the article. For example, [[Taunts#Taunts by class is linking to the section "Taunts by class" in the article "Taunts". Not only should the language code go after the linked article's title (ergo, before the #), the section being linked to should be properly translated as well (the section "Taunts by class" in Taunts/it is called "Provocazioni specifici per classe", meaning the correction way to translate [[Taunts#Taunts by class|respective class taunts pages]] would be [[Taunts/it#Provocazioni specifici per classe|rispettive pagine]]). Be aware that some pages use anchors, which aren't always translated (such as the class and slots anchors in articles for weapons - heavyprimary, demomelee, etc.), so it's always a good idea to check the target page to see if it has an anchor and/or what the proper section name is.

Additionally, you never properly translated any links to Wikipedia articles. These are a bit more annoying than internal links, as they require the name of the Wikipedia article being linked to (for example, the translation for [[w:Top hat|top hat]] would be [[w:it:Cilindro (copricapo)|cilindro]] instead of [[w:Top hat/it|cilindro]] or [[w:it:Top hat|cilindro]]). If, however, the Wikipedia article does not exist in the same language as the TF Wiki article, it's ok to leave the link to the English article, but make sure to add {{lang icon|en}} after it to let readers know that the target page is in English.

Lastly, your translation for "a community-created cosmetic item for [class(es)]" has been different from the already established format: the entirety of "creata dalla comunità" links to the Steam Workshop article, not just "comunità", and it's placed after "una decorazione", not after the class or classes the item is for. Since this format has been in use in all articles for class items, it's best to stick to it than to try and change it now. You've also been unnecessarily capitalizing some (but not all, curiously) words in section names: there is no need to capitalize "colore" and "aggiornamenti" in "Variazioni di colore" and "Cronologia degli aggiornamenti". Common section names such as these have established names stored in the dictionary, so you can use {{common string}} ({{common string|Painted variants}}, {{common string|Unused content}}, etc.) to quickly see what they are.

Pyro/it edit

Hi there,

Thank you for updating the Italian Pyro page. There were some minor issues, which I changed in this edit. Please see the edit to see some of the changes I made.

For links with a section (which are linked using # in the link), the language ISO code (it in this case) goes before the #, rather than at the end of the link. lang icon should also not be in the italics of a game's title, but outside of it (e.g. ''[[w:Sonic Racing|Sonic Racing]]'' {{lang icon|en}} instead of ''[[w:Sonic Racing|Sonic Racing]] {{lang icon|en}}''). Also, the {{related images}} template is there to link to the category with all the Pyro images we have on the Wiki, {{main}} is used for articles.
