Revision as of 09:01, 10 December 2024

Who wouldn't want to squeeze off a couple rounds with the murder weapon of choice of a sociopathic cartoon rabbit? Probably quite a lot of people, when you get right down to it. Luckily, those people are all well-adjusted contributors to society with no police records, spotless credit ratings and few unresolvable moral failings. They also probably have no interest in playing TF2, so that means more murder-rabbit gun shooting for the rest of us.
Lugermorph publicity blurb

The Lugermorph (/ˈlu.ɡɚ.mɔɹf/ or /ˈlu.ɡə.mɔːf/ loo-gerr-morf) is a promotional secondary weapon for the Scout and Engineer. It is based on the pistol used by Max from the Sam & Max franchise.

This weapon functions identically to the Pistol.

This item was awarded in Vintage quality (tradable and giftable) to players who purchased Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse on Steam before April 26, 2010. The promotion was also extended to players who purchased the game from the Telltale Games store within the same deadline and redeemed the promotional code they were eligible to claim.

Currently, it is awarded in Unique quality to players who earn the Poker Night at the Inventory achievement Special Item: Max by defeating Max in a knockout round. As of May 23, 2019, the game has been removed from sale. However, any owners may still obtain its promotional items.

The kill icon for the Lugermorph was contributed by NeoDement.

Bugs

  • When reloading or inspecting the Lugermorph, no magazine is removed or loaded into the weapon.[1]
  • Lugermorph uses the same taunt as Pistol. But, due to to the Lugermorph's barrel being longer than Pistol's, Engineer will blow on the top of the barrel rather than into the muzzle while performing the taunt.

Trivia

  • The name "Lugermorph" is a portmanteau of "Luger", a German sidearm that the Lugermorph's model is based on, and "lagomorph", the taxonomic order that Max claims to be part of.
  • The weapon's in-game description alludes to a running joke in the Sam & Max series, in which characters ask where Max keeps his pistol and other possessions, as he does not wear any clothes.
  • As with all pistols, the Lugermorph's slide does not cycle when firing.
