Advanced Weaponiser is the name of a SourceMod server plugin which adds additional items to Team Fortress 2. It was developed by Mecha the Slag, and is currently at version 2.0.2.
A loadout viewer built specifically for Advanced Weaponiser is currently in development, and can be found here. In the same manner as backpack viewers for TF2 itself, the inventory of any player can be viewed by entering their Steam ID into the search bar. For example, Humblerbee's backpack and loadout can be found here.

Gameplay Demonstration
Basic Use
- Advanced Weaponiser automatically associates 'backpacks' with a player's Steam ID, letting them retain their items and loadout settings across all servers running the plugin.
- When connecting to a registered server for the first time, a player will not have any Advanced Weaponiser items, but will be granted one after a short amount of gameplay time.
- Like the official TF2 item drop system, players are regularly granted an Advanced Weaponiser item as they spend time playing on a registered server, continuing without any drop cap until they have at least one of every non-restricted weapon.
- From that point onwards, there's a drop limit of 3 items per day, and players become able to find Toolkits and Scrolls.
- The reciept of any Advanced Weaponiser item is announced with a text alert identical to the way it works for TF2's official weapons and achievements, except Advanced Weaponiser items appear with solid black text to distinguish them from the yellow text of official drops.
- When recieving an item, the player is presented with an HTML page showing the item's appearance, name, class, and statistics, and they have the option of either equipping it immediately or dismissing the message.
Player Commands
As is the case with most SourceMod plugins, commands must be prefixed with either ! or /. Using ! publicly displays the command in chat when entered, while / hides it:
- info <item name> - Displays the name, class, and statistics for the specified item.
- loadout - A browsing and 'equip' interface for the items the player has found, divided into slots (Primary, Secondary, and Melee) when a class is chosen.
- news - A log of all changes to the plugin, grouped in reverse chronological order. The date and plugin version for each change is not displayed.

Known Bugs
- The April 14, 2011 Patch introduced a permanent bug where players are no longer able to view most weapon/hat models on all players.
- Viewmodels for most of the weapons are disabled, due to their previous glitchy nature (they would flicker between the Weaponiser item and the item in the player's 'real' loadout). Almost all 'world' models are invisible, except when taunting (and even then, can only be seen by the player who's taunting).
- Inspecting a player that's using Weaponiser equipment causes accurate pro/con/description data to be shown, but the weapon's name, name color and icon are rarely correct.
- Snipers equipped with The Walkabout have the cosmetic attachments of their 'real' primary weapon displayed on their player model (i.e. arrows in the quiver with the Huntsman equipped, darts in the pocket with the Sydney Sleeper).
Trivia
- Several weapons in Weaponiser are based on unused and beta items.
- Weapons that featured in this mod are sometimes officially added to the game, using either their model or stats:
- The Original stats for the Endless Carnage were very similar to the stats now used for the Back Scratcher.
- The stats for the Gentle Manne's Olde Firecannone were very similar to the stats now used for the Detonator.
- Before being officially added to the game, the Fists of Steel model was used for a weapon by the same name. Because of this, the Advanced Weaponiser version was renamed to the Alternative Fists of Steel.
- The model of the the Heart Opener is based on the Yatagarasu's Key from Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.
- The model of the Endless Carnage is based on a chainaxe from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
- The model of the Revolvin' Revolver is based on Skelter Helter's gun from No More Heroes 2.
- Version 1 had its own achievements system (based upon one of Mecha's other plugins), and players who fulfilled the achievement conditions were rewarded with hat sklins like the Rad Rap.
- Achievements were removed in Version 2 because they left the plugin open to exploitation.
- Hats no longer work, due to Valve's current policy on item attatchment forbidding their use.
- In addition, Version 2 introduced Unusual effects attached to weapons.
- The description for the Rad Rap is a reference to the Gorillaz song Melancholy Hill.
- The Rad Rap is modeled after the hat worn by "Russel" on the cover of the Gorillaz album "Demon Days."
- The Great Slag Treasure Hunt was a special event hosted a few months before the end of Version 1, giving AW players the chance to gain three weapons which were (at the time) exclusively found as treasure hunt prizes. Players had to collect 4 clues (the letters S, L, A and G) and stand at specific points on specific maps to claim their prize.
- The Pegasus Boots were found on koth_viaduct, The Celtic King was found on koth_nucleus, and The Lethal Injection was found on koth_harvest_event.
