팀 포트리스 2 의 홍보용 아이템들은 밸브 의 동업 비디오 게임 회사와 더불어 게임들을 홍보해서 생긴, 플레이어들이 받는 데 제한된 아이템 입니다. 기본적으로 명시된 기간 안에 밸브나 동업사들의 상품을 구입하면 상품을 광고하는 아이템을 받게 되죠.

홍보용 아이템은 매우 다양하게 얻습니다. 일반적으로 홍보용 아이템은 특정 상품을 예약 구매하거나 구입한 플레이어들에게 지급됩니다. 다른 경우로 홍보용 아이템이 게임의 도전과제나 조건을 성공해서 지급되는 경우도 있었습니다. 예를들어 이어버드 는 Template:W로 팀 포트리스 2 를 실행한 플레이어들에게만 지급되었죠.

예외로 다른 게임을 즐겨서 얻는 경우도 있습니다. 그렇게 생긴 아이템은 더 이상 얻을 수 없고 교환 이나 선물 로 얻어서만 착용할 수 있습니다.
