The Double-Barrel Shotgun (Also known as the Super Shotgun in Quake Team Fortress) is a weapon in Team Fortress Classic.

Power

  • The weapon deals 4 points of damage over 14 pellets; 56 damage if all pellets connect, which makes this weapon able to kill a Scout in two shots.
  • The absence of fall-off damage in Team Fortress Classic makes it ideal as a primary weapon.
  • The Team Fortress Classic game engine also limits the spread of the weapon, making it work surprisingly well at long ranges.
  • The reloading time is fairly quick, as it takes 3 seconds to completely reload the Double-Barrel Shotgun.

Weaknesses

  • The Quake Team Fortress version have fall-off damage, rendering the weapon less useful at range, and making it a backup weapon.
  • This weapon consumes 2 shells per shot, making the weapon capable of entirely consuming the player's shell reserve.
  • While it doesn't have fall-off damage in Team Fortress Classic, it is preferable to use this weapon at close combat quarters to deal full damage. This causes the player to expose himself to danger.

Trivia

  • The model in Team Fortress Classic is same SPAS-12 model from Half-Life.
