Clarification on Fanfare
Where the article says "Upon a successful double headshot where the bullet has penetrated and killed multiple players, a sound will play throughout the server to signal the occurance." is this different to the fanfare which is played after a penetration kill? - There is a difference, upon a double penetration kill (no headshots or one headshot and a bodyshot) the fanfare will play, if its 2 headshots this sound will play that you can here at the end of this youtube vid over here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1XCz5v7J_A dy1an 10:59, 19 August 2011 (PDT)
- If you get a kill by shooting through an enemy and killing someone behind them, the fanfare plays and everyone hears it (at least both teams do, unsure about people dead/spectating). Killing multiple players with one shot is NOT required. That's basically it.Wernstrum 13:18, 19 August 2011 (PDT)
- I attempted to clarify the 'fanfare' thing, but I'm having trouble describing what it actually sounds like. I think the sound file is located at '/team fortress 2 content.gcf/tf/sound/misc/sniper_railgun_double_kill.wav' but I can't get GCFScape to extract it (dunno why); it might be a good idea to link the sound on the page so people can hear what it's like. - No, thank YOU for linking to it. Apart from the occasional quote links, there aren't really any sound files embedded in wiki pages that I know of, so I had no idea how to implement and would probably have done it in such a way that my edit got instantly deleted -PlausibleSarge 21:47, 20 August 2011 (PDT)
- Well, honestly, it took me an embarrassing amount of tries to get it right. I ended up just using another sound file as a template (the one on this talk page to be exact, and replaced the filename with that of your upload. Damage
I added the damage chart to the page, but I have a few questions. -I calculated the random distance modifier into the base damage to get the spread for the 100% charged bodyshot, should I be doing this or testing ingame? -Since I did calculate it, what should I round the values to? Croc-O-Style Kit Bug?
From what I've heard, a head shot from the Machina will completely ignore the Croc-O-Style Kits' set bonus. Can someone test this? Wallacethewalrus 19:46, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- A Croc-O-Style sniper can survive a basic headshot, though I've yet to test if they can survive a full charged Machina ignores their headshot resistance. Wernstrum 14:03, 19 August 2011 (PDT)
- I'm not sure if it just has to be fully charged single headshot or a piercing one. Try testing both if possible. Wallacethewalrus 09:41, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Change the quote?
Maybe it's me, but the current one just bugs me since the Machina can't penetrate through buildings, which means the engie basically does have a gadget that stops his bullets? Seems a little contradictory. Wernstrum 14:19, 19 August 2011 (PDT)

Weapon Presentation

- I think your main menu language will have to be changed to English to keep the format the same as the other videos, but I'm not really involved with that kind of thing so don't take my word as law. The layout of the video and examples of the weapon look good, but you'll need to talk to the guys at the Weapon Demonstration Project to get their approval. - I know, that there is a lot of tips, but i have used them. Screen was recorded at 1980x820, with medium settings (somewhere was high) and anti-aliasing x4. I don't know even why i can't see damage done even with 720p. I rendered it in 1280*720 and h264, as it was writed in tips. About language, I wondered about it, but though, that it doesn't matter at all. But well, if i have to change my lang and record it again, no problem! ; )

Confirmation on killing Ubercharged enemies.

Not-Necesary Trivia

Destroys projectiles?
I have noticed that if this weapon happens to shoot a projectile it will actually destroy the projectile.

Trace draw bug?
I need some more people to confirm this, but it seems that the trace is actually angled lower than the actual shot.

I can confirm that on long distance shots the tracer ends up lower than the actual bullet, but only slightly. Odd ball123 09:11, 26 August 2011 (PDT)
Weapon Demonstration Video Incomplete
I think that the Weapon Demonstration Video should include a display of shooting through (but not killing) the first target, then shooting through (and killing) the second target. There should be two examples of this, one where the second target is killed via body shot, and another where the second target is killed via headshot. Superfield 08:44, 18 October 2011 (PDT)
- Also it would be nice to include a target standing infront of an engineer buildung. To show, the bullet can't penetrate the building (this is in the movie already), but it can pass through a person and then hit+destroy the building. Trent Easton 17:27, 16 November 2011 (PST)
Weapon Effect sharing.
