I can't help but feel that the hat is somewhat related to a famous Street Fighter character. (nanosheep_inc) 06:40, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
That hat is just like Bison's. I would put that on the trivia section. Mike Red 18:45, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's a police cap. The M Bison similarity is a coincidence. – Smashman (talk) 21:56, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
It looks like a Dutch train-attendant's hat; with the railroad pin switched with a TF2 logo. FoOz 07:05, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I'd say it resembles a common military officer's hat. --RedShocktrooper 18:49, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
It may be unintentional, but galdarn it I want it because it looks like Bison's hat. If I get it I'm namin' it Shadaloo Chapeau or some other ridiculous thing. --CommodoreJim 04:51, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Description suggestions
So while in the IRC, I started coming up with new descriptions suggestions. So far my favorite I have come up with is:
"War is but the sum of a merciless edit"
I may list a few more if I think of anything better... -- Benjamuffin 13:22, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
"All heroic virtues rest on truth." -- MistahFixIt 18:33, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
"Well, you found it. After editing all those pages. Congratulations. Was it worth it?"--Focusknock 18:36, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
"In recognition of your personnal lack of social life for the community knowledge". Well, not as fun as a GladOS reference or original as the WAR! for edit quote, but still, it's the use of this hat. Tturbo 18:43, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
"Changing the way you play, one edit at a time." Attempt at a simple one -- Benjamuffin 18:45, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
^ The GLaDOS one's a winner fo' shore. Also, "The truth is like an Ubered Heavy. You can shut it out for a while, but it ain't goin' away." -- MistahFixIt 18:48, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
"This hat may be stubby, but the articles sure ain't!" -- Benjamuffin 18:50, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
"Those who don this cap have accomplished the most edit-ifying deeds" -- Alsoodani 18:53, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Alsoodani
- or some other such sentence with edit-ifiying (pun on edit and edifying). Definition:Edifying-enlightening or uplifting so as to encourage intellectual or moral improvement [1] Isn't that what we do around here? Doing something enlightening to encourage intellectual improvement (in this case: Team Fortress 2 Knowledge)? :D What do you guys think of the quote? -- Alsoodani 18:53, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Alsoodani
- "{{c|cool}}"-RJ 19:01, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

"For the dedicated few who would rather spend their time writing about this game then playing it" or "[citation needed]" CaptMurasa 19:56, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- I like those last two CaptMurasa -- Benjamuffin 21:47, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Lagg approves of the former. Lagg 21:55, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
What about... "The enemy has been marked for deletion." -- OluapPlayer (t) 21:53, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- I considered [citation needed] the other day. But I was thinking about naming my hat that. – Smashman (talk) 21:55, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Speaking of which, I read on the older Talk Page some were looking to change the name (The Recent Change was the best proposition so far), is it still an actual fact? Tturbo 23:33, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- As I've been instructed, here are my ideas for the new Wiki Cap name: The Captributor, The Cap Lock or The (Wiki) Service Cap... But I prefer the first two personally... Tturbo 03:32, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Just wondering since I cannot edit this page, should it be added that "it is currently unknown how this hat is obtained"? Or have I just missed something? I have no idea. Zombie James 08:31, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
I think moders will change it -Mendel777 09:03, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

- Oh we know that Valve knows. Robin's sitting at his computer (with his desk-chair set low, as not to topple his Tower of Hattes upon the ceiling) laughing merrily at our ignorance. -- MistahFixIt 17:33, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Maybe it will be available tomorrow or the day after tomorrow! it's my mind... Wanna see this hat on the players -Mendel777 17:55, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

- He's one of the founding members of this Wiki and Valve's added a Wiki-related hat, why wouldn't he know? Also, I would like to reiterate the box at the top of this talk page. We are not a forum, and these discussions are not about the article. Take it to SPUF. -RJ 00:26, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, don't take it to SPUF, or the number of "I'm here 4 Wiki cap hurr" users will probably spike. -The Neotank ( | Talk) 01:01, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- Everybody wanna this cap, but there are people who will stay here and continue working and people, who will play 24/7 and say to all players:"Look at my hat!!! It's amazing! You don't have it! bla-bla-bla" So choose carefully... -Mendel777 04:24, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Spending all that time only for hat??? don't understand... It's better to work for people! Isn't it good when your friends come to Wiki and read something that you wrote? -Mendel777 06:20, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Holy Chewbacca crap, hat for mere wikipedians (or just Team Admins, but it's kewl also) - let's give Robin a hug and burn infidels Ostrowiak 20:33, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- The whole freaking point of having a Wiki hat is to attract more contributors, and that's what it's doing. Not everyone who has signed up recently are morons, we actually have a lot more good editors now. In the future they are the ones who will get the hat, not people who just post their Steam URL and be done with it, nor others who are just curious about how you even get the hat in the first place; seriously, look at the Wiki Cap article. You wouldn't be able to know how to obtain one just by looking at it. You could only know by reading this entire talk page. Taking a stance against new editors who are "just here for the hat" does not increase your chances of getting a hat yourself. The hat is only going to those who have earned it. seb26 [talk] 22:05, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
How I feel about the Wiki Cap
- I've got something say about this whole mess.
Look, fact of the matter is (to me anyway) that if you came here for a stupid hat, you're here for the wrong reasons. Some of us contribute a lot, some of us only a little, but we all contribute something and we don't do it for a damn hat. I don't want a hat. I want to keep the wiki up to date with correct information. Why? Because I want it to be that way. I use this wiki along with everyone else.
Unlike other wikis I've been members of, though, I've rarely had to fix any pages. Rarely do I have to correct information or revert an edit. And this is concerning. It seems people are coming in here just editing pages now putting in bad information and then correcting it themselves or letting other people correct it to seem like wiki contributors to get this freaking cap?
I took a unanimous vote, and decided those people can Jarate right off. Smashman, this hat I think has ruined the wiki for those users who are here to keep the wiki up to date and correct. It's become a pain in the ass for the rest of us. I'd like to see the hat renamed to "Community Contributor Cap" and given to those who help out the community, being forum administrators and the heads of this wiki and everyone else out there who has done a damn good job in helping out the community like Diamao and Royzo and even Drunkenf00l for TF2items.com
In conclusion, f-bomb this hat.
