Trivia
- This hat was in fashion during the late 17th century and 18th century, falling out of style shortly before the French Revolution. At the peak of its popularity, the tricorne was worn as civilian dress and as part of military and naval uniforms.
- This hat is commonly associated with pirates, who are commonly stereotyped to wear eyepatches, much like the Demoman himself.
- A 'tippler' refers to a person who engages in regular, excessive or habitual consumption of alcohol. Pirates, too are associated with the imbibing of intoxicating liquor.
- The distinguishing characteristic of the hat is its practicality. The turned-up portions of the brim form gutters that direct rainwater away from the wearer's face.
- When the Polycount update came out, this hat's model was mistakenly replaced with that of the Rimmed Raincatcher. When the October 6th 2010 patch came out, the Rimmed Raincatcher was introduced as a separate hat and the Tippler's Tricorne was changed back to its original form.
