Meat
It looks to me like 1 meat, hence why I edited it originally. However, you guys are right that he refers to it as both. Kinda strange.Subtlefuge 05:03, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
I believe the meat is bologna as the Heavy says happily to himself, instead of ham which he says to his opponents, telling them there's no need to run away from him. It makes sense that ham would be the joke and not the line with the bologna being perfect fuel for killing tiny cowards.--Katz 02:45, 24 August 2011 (PDT)

"Nommed"?
This also applies to the Dalokohs Bar and Buffalo Steak Sandvich Should the "bitten" version of the Sandvich really be called "nommed", which isn't a real word, and is quite, er, inappropriate? -Rocket Ship BBQ 15:44, 9 October 2011 (PDT)
- This is a silly game. We've got Australians with crocodile heads throwing piss at people, bloodthirsty Bostonians wearing rabbit heads and trying to kill someone with a broken scattergun taped in place with a can of cola, and black Scottish Cyclopes wearing ancient shamanic masks decapitating people with golf clubs. I think that it's a funny idea for a funny game to have Nommed. Fyahweather 16:04, 9 October 2011 (PDT)

- This is the Fun Police! Come out with your arms above your heads! *Ahem* While the word "Nommed" may be amusing to some, I would be remiss if I did not point out that it is a colloquialism, and one that may not necessarily be known to all members of the Community. Even if we assume that everyone will get (and approve of) the reference, what about the non-English members of the Community? Would they get the same reference? If so, would "Nommed" be translated? If not, what would replace it? Something else? If so, that would affect the standardisation of the Wiki, something which has always been highlighted as important. Anyway, just some things to ponder. I don't mind either way personally. Right, I'll show myself out. --- Esquilax 18:03, 9 October 2011 (PDT)
- Yes, I understand that it's hard to translate. However, doesn't the Heavy say Nom in all languages of TF2? And if he doesn't, use the word he says in context. Fyahweather 20:31, 9 October 2011 (PDT)
- Time for my argument. "Nommed" is not particularly humorous to me, and, I presume, not everyone. Also, the Wiki itself is not written in a humorous manner at all, with much humorous content, especially trivia, challenged and removed. -Rocket Ship BBQ 21:40, 11 October 2011 (PDT)
- Although the Wiki is not written in a humurous way, the humour of "nommed" is a feature of the game (to "nom" is to take a bite from one of the Heavy's edibles, as evidenced in his eating animation) and so we reflect that. Please present your argument initially next time though, instead of leaving editors to guess. i-ghost 06:39, 17 October 2011 (PDT)
- What about someone new to the game who hasn't heard a Heavy eat his Sandvich yet? What will he think when he sees "Nommed"? Chances are that person will understand it means "eaten", but he will not understand why the word "Nommed" is used. Additionally, no where else on the page is the word "nom" used; instead it says "the Heavy makes a loud munching noise while eating." -Rocket Ship BBQ 17:40, 17 October 2011 (PDT)
- Agreed, but,if we replace nommed with "eaten",it would mean "FULLY eaten" for a newbie,"nommed" would mean...I don't know. But what if we replaced it as "Bitten"?I think this should be much better. So it should be either "nommed" or "bitten. --Night Knight 12:27, 19 October 2011 (PDT)
- Regarding the so-called new player, it doesn't take effort to click "nommed" and then make the mental connection that "nommed" means that a bite has been taken out of the Sandvich. i-ghost 04:06, 21 October 2011 (PDT)
- If a new player sees "nommed" on the article and can't grasp what it means by continuing to read, then may God have mercy on their soul. SS2R 04:11, 21 October 2011 (PDT)
- No where else on the wiki is "Nommed" or "Nom" used, and I hear consistency is important? Why have this little eyesore in the corner? —Rocket Ship BBQ(•) 07:51, 21 October 2011 (PDT)
- I think it's fine as it is, consistency is important yes, but I find that this situation is unique and as such can call for a new standard. In other sections of the Wiki, I'm sure people have referred to the sandvich as "bitten" or "eaten", as saying "nommed" doesn't really cut it, as it could leave it's meaning somewhat ambiguous. However, in this situation, the reader is given the visual aid of the bitten sandvich to explain what "Nommed" means. I believe that a reader would be perfectly capable of understanding that "nommed" is onomatopoeia given the picture of the bitten sandvich. Also it is not entirely true that nommed is not mentioned elsewhere on the wiki, it can be heard here. -Mr. Magoolachub 08:06, 21 October 2011 (PDT)

Taunt w/Sandvich?
When I taunt with the Sandvich, I don't eat it (it isn't used up). Is this supposed to happen? It is not mentioned explicitly in the article that taunting with the Sandvich does not consume it. I need clarification I guess. Sgt Hailfire 05:36, 3 November 2011 (PDT)
- I think it depends on how much health you have when you taunt. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 08:35, 3 November 2011 (PDT)
- Which means at full health you can have uninterrupted Sandvich parties. —Rocket Ship BBQ(•) 22:42, 3 November 2011 (PDT)
Which company created the Sandvich?
On the Mann Co. page, it claims that the Sandvich was created by them. However, the blueprints for the Sandvich says TF Industries on it. So who created it?Enthers 15:08, 12 March 2012 (PDT)
- Technically, it is both of them. Mann Co. is a division of TF Industries. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 16:39, 12 March 2012 (PDT)
Sandvich Quotes
Seems like there ought to be included in the article something pertaining to the various quotes and sound clips that trigger at the end of the taunt. Is it the only taunt that plays soundbites specifically after it finishes? The Grand Karkasmolen 20:26, 19 May 2012 (PDT)
dropping health kit bug
ok, im not positive, but i believe that there is a bug when the heavy throws down his sandvich. i don't know if it always happens, but it seems when the heavy drops his sandvich, it takes the appearance of a medium health kit. it still heals the way it should. can somebody do a test for me? voice response bug?
Since the christmas update, Heavy no longer says anything after eating a Sandvich. Can anyone confirm whether this is just on my end or if something got changed? Redjarman (talk) 14:37, 22 December 2013 (PST)
I've got the same problem, it's a real shame because I love listening to the heavy ramble on during setup. I hope they fix this soon. I've been searching online to see if anyone else has this problem and only found this page. It's really frustrating. Doctajonez (talk) 05:44, 14 January 2014 (PST)
Same here and I have the Strange Festive Sandvich. I thought it was just that one that didn't cause him to say anything. I wish they would just fix this. Justice508 (talk) 11:53, 18 January 2014 (PST)
Bug Category
If you fall of an edge while eating the sandvich or festive sandvich, crumbs will continue to to appear on your screen even though you are not eating it anymore. I though we could put this up in the Bugs section but I wasn't sure if it was like a major thing that had to go up. I have screenshots of it but I was just suggesting it first instead of putting it up. Justice508 (talk) 11:51, 18 January 2014 (PST)
- Its not notable, since its not game breaking, Its just visual. Similar to how, you just walk off an edge while taunting, it still plays the animation. So its not notable. Ashes (talk) 13:42, 18 January 2014 (PST)
3D Model of Sandvich on Plate?
Should we put that in there or not? KSquared 17:03, 25 January 2014 (PST)
- Maybe . . . But first, about 1 years passed, still no model for Bat Outta Hell and a lot of weapons... Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 18:23, 25 January 2014 (PST)
- Yeah, someone needs to get on that... KSquared 19:27, 26 January 2014 (PST)
Festive Sandvich is set to be paintable.
The ribbon on the Festive Sandvich is set to be paintable, but the ability to do it is disabled. I remember seeing this on Lollichop page once, but it was removed for a reason that I don't know. I know there is no weapon that can be paintable, but I still think pretty interesting. Thoughts? I also would like to know the reason that it was removed from the Lollichop page, that's possibly going to be the same reason to not add this on the Sandvich page. About Bug
“If the player is damaged while doing an action taunt at either full health or overheal, and the Sandvich is the active weapon, then the Sandvich will disappear as if used, although with no effect on the player.” Is this bug still avaliable?I tried with my friend, sandwich won't disapper after get hurt.J.will (talk) 06:49, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Coincidental acronym?
Is the full name "Sandvich Edible Device" (S.E.D.) an intentional acronym referencing the Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands, the leading party of communist East Germany during the Cold War? I've seen this possible trivia mentioned before and it seems this was one put in the Trivia here. With all the other communist references for the Heavy, it seems to not be a coincidence, although I'm not sure how it would be confirmed.-- Akolyth (talk) 17:35, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
