Expanding, cleaning up this page.

I'm going to take on the task of expanding and cleaning up this page. I'm primarily interested in discussing how the store works, its current limitations, and the breadth of the catalog. What things can be bought? What things can't? What things are available both in the store and as a drop? What are store exclusives? And so forth.

This can essentially form a quick summary of the store itself and a brief overview of its available contents and features.

Great! You're more than welcome to. -RJ 13:22, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
I took the liberty of adding several items to the "Unavaliable Items" list. The following are what I added: Polycount Pin, Golden Wrench, Wiki Cap, Ellis' Cap, Frying Pan, Gentle Manne's Service Medal, Mercenary, Soldier of Fortune, Grizzled Veteran, Primeval Warrior, Bronze Dueling Badge, Silver Dueling Badge, Gold Dueling Badge and Platinum Dueling Badge. I'm doublechecking to make sure that I haven't forgotten anything. In the event that I have, feel free to add it. Also, should the Stock Weapons be added to this list, or would that be redundant? I'm leaning towards not doing so. Any opinions?--Krizzle_0 12:38, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Just a quick update. I added the three types of metal to the list, as well as the Southern Hospitality and Vita-Saw. I also reordered the items a little so they look a a little better grouped.--Krizzle_0 1:20, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
We're working at cross purposes. Is this a list of all unavailable items or only those which are available in-game but unavailable in the store? If it's the latter, change the text preceding the section and leave it as-is. Zoolooman 02:01, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I changed the section to "Non-Purchasable Items" as opposed to "Unobtainable Items". --Krizzle_0 8:03, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Can you guys ad about the possibilities of the "special Gift" from Valve when a person does a purchase over $20 in one transaction. What might the gift contain i.e pile of standard weapons, some special item or hat etc - SG 16:35, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
I'll add it right now. Zoolooman 16:38, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

This is really fun, but...

I feel like I'm reproducing info packed onto other pages.

Just an example. Any opinions?

how to edit the link of the pictures?

the crate's icon is linked to the paint can somehow have no clue how to edit

Fixed. -Ravedave 15:24, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Fixed for good. The "Icon item" template had a few too many cut-paste. Simrider 03:10, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Include prices?

Should we list the prices from the store? I find it annoying to have fire up TF2 to get the prices. -Ravedave 15:25, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

"Selling" items on Trivia

Should be noted that the "selling" part on trivia may refer to the modelers who had their works included in the game get a percentage from sales from Valve.--Kid Of The Century 15:55, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

The only thing I want to add here

I'll collect some screens of the Mann Co store, and then I think this page will be less stub and more useful resource. :) Zoolooman 20:23, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Page Quote

How about this for a page quote? "You shoulda oughta brought more gun, son." - Engineer  ? Scatmanjohn 23:20, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

How about "400,000 dollars to fire that weapon? Yeah money well spent." Or is that too negative?  – Smashman (talk) 23:28, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I think that would work better actually, could have a tagline like, "The Scout on proper financial planning" or something along those lines. Scatmanjohn 23:33, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Better yet, "The Scout on Financial Advice" Scatmanjohn 23:34, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I like it! ~ lhavelund (tc) 23:34, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Ok then, il edit it in :D Scatmanjohn 23:46, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Changing the top image

I'm considering altering this page's Title image to the actual store page. Thoughts? BraveTriforcer 04:59, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Translating into other languages & updating when necessary

Hi, Can someone edit the script and for a moment think, how we other translators can in easy way edit & add new items to store after new update. For now it is extremely difficult. I wrote Polish (/pl) page and now i can't even add new items, because you are now using new script and all page is in old version. I also checked the other translations and all are in the same condition. I hope that someone take care of it. -- Szumin (talkcontrib) 14:04, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

I agree, currently the English page is using Template:Store_row and I can't find a way to directly translate the template anywhere. The alternative is to do what the German Mann co store page does and do all the tables manually, but I imagine the Store_row template was created because that alternative is too clunky. For now, pretty much every non-English page is left half-translated, as a result. - Meadows 15:09, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Moussekateer is on it --CruelCow (talk) 03:51, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Pictogram tick.png Done: The tables have been moved into templates (Template:Storepurchasable, Template:Storenonpurchasable), that way if new items get added, all translated pages will be updated too. The name translations themselves are taken from Template:Item name. The headers/halloween text are translateable in the templates themselves. --CruelCow (talk) 01:54, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Gift wrap gone?

I can't see gift wrap in the store any more. - Devozade 13:45, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

I still see it in the misc tab, second page. --CruelCow (talk) 16:55, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

End-of-the-Year Paint/Tag sale

A Bitter Taste of Defeat and Lime and Pink as Hell have been added, and the Black and White paints are available for a limited time. Tags are also on sale. The sale lasts from December 31, 2010 to January 2, 2011. Satorifan 02:56, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

We're aware. Thanks. – Smashman (talk) 03:01, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
