Steampunk?

I don't see how it's steampunk. Maybe I'm just missing something. Leaderboard class soldier.pngJust a Gigolo - (talk) 07:04, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I didn't comprehend that either. Steampunk? The only thing that reminds me vaguely of it is the bullet belt. Probably useless, but I'll keep it in case. Painted Vintage Merryweather 7E7E7E.pngFyahweather 07:18, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
I remember seeing it on the Polycount thread, and I remember seeing cogs attached to it. The dirty brown look combined with the cogs and bullet belt is what gives it a steampunk feeling overall. At least, it does for me and I am pretty sure I'm not the only one. Just my two cents. Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 11:18, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Sup guys, Hideous here - I modeled the hat and it is not (intentionally) a steampunk hat. The cog was added for style/more relevance to the Engineer. --Hideous 11:24, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up, mate. Congratulations, by the way, for getting the hat into the game. It looks fantastic. Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 11:33, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
I'll second that thanks. I can't wait until I craft one. Leaderboard class soldier.pngJust a Gigolo - (talk) 11:35, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Don't forget to add Pie_Tony to the contributed by thing, he's the guy that made the texture. I don't know how this wiki business works entirely, so you do it :D --Hideous 11:37, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Danke. Brilliant hat by the way. The only problem with it is the bullet belt. The belt only uses 35% of the bullets. Painted Vintage Merryweather 7E7E7E.pngFyahweather 13:43, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Are you talking about the shotgun ammo? Because I am fairly certain that the bullets on the hat are not shotgun shells. Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 14:59, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
He's making a Portal 2 joke. Remember the Turret Trailer? Leaderboard class soldier.pngJust a Gigolo - (talk) 11:04, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Because, remember folks. Only Aperture Science uses ALL of the bullet. And where do they get the bullets from?

Seriously? I missed that joke? Bloody hell, I'm an idiot. Please excuse me for a minute while I headdesk at my own ineptitude. Killicon train.png Hefaistus - talk 12:52, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Don't feel bad, that joke went over my head for quite a while. Leaderboard class soldier.pngJust a Gigolo - (talk) 15:19, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Spurs are sharp. Also, what Maggosh said. Leaderboard class soldier.pngJust a Gigolo - (talk) 14:28, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
It's a cog. – Smashman (talk) 14:32, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Bullets

I'm not an expert on ammunition, but can anyone tell what caliber those bullets are? —GeminiViRiS User GeminiViRiS Doubleface.jpg Talk · Contribs 08:06, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm guessing it's the same caliber as the Pistol's boolets.  – User Ohyeahcrucz Sig.png Ohyeahcrucz [T][C] 08:08, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
I added the following, but it was quickly removed by someone due to being "speculation", though I'm fairly certain of it all. Currently trying to contact Hideous or Pie_Tony about what they had in mind when designing the ammo belt.
  • The bullets seen wrapped around the band of the Western Wear appear similar to the real-world 9mm caliber, or .22 LR bullet. However, .22 LR are typically used for rifles, or revolvers, while 9mm caliber bullets are made for Luger and Parabellum hand gun cartridges.
