Botkiller weapons are a special classification of items. They are signature Stock weapons for each class with a robotic Heavy's head with team-colored eyes bound to the weapon with various belts, chains and wires depending on the weapon. There are two types of weapons exist: with silver head and gold head. All of the Botkiller Weapons are Jiggleboned; Heavies', Pyros', Demomen's, Soldiers', Snipers', and Scouts' robotic Heavy heads will sway left and right according to the direction the player turns. On Engineers' and Spies' weapons, the mouth of the robotic Heavy head will open and close while the player moves around. Also the Sniper's robotic Heavy head has a hole in its forehead, and the Demoman's sports a metal eyepatch.

Botkiller Weapons were added to the game with the Mann vs. Machine update on August 15, 2012 Patch. To earn a Botkiller weapon, you have to beat a full Tour of Duty (6 missions, two on each map), and at the end you are rewarded with a random Botkiller weapon. Most likely it will be silver, the gold variety is much rarer (around a 15% chance). ^{[citation needed]} Weapons will always be in strange quality.

The level of a Botkiller weapon is correspondent to the level of the player's Operation Steel Trap Badge. For example, the first time a player completes all six missions, he or she will be rewarded with a Level 1 item, the second times would be rewarded with a Level 2 item, etc. ^{[citation needed]}

Unused content

• The yellow components of the silver heads are set up for paint.

Bugs

• The chain would seem to move on the botkiller Minigun as the barrel spins, but it stays stationary as the barrel spins normally.

• There has been some Glitches with some of the Botkiller Weapons that the Chain and Head would clip off and clip to other weapons, this is more dominate with the Minigun Botkiller, for some, they see it, but sometimes, the User does NOT see it.
