User talk:Spelsucre
Getting started
Heyo!
Here's some links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Spelsucre/ to the page title when you create the page.
Now for some more specific info, following links may prove useful:
- Very important: Spatieregels and the DT-regel
- Tf_dutch.txt for the official in-game names and descriptions
- This page and this page page for the default translations of commonly used terms.
Some more useful information:
- (Almost) everything between square brackets should be turned into its /nl counterpart
- e.g.:
Meet the Medic
→Ontmoet de Medic
- This includes updates, maps and game modes.
- If you don't know the name of a weapon, for example the Soda Popper, you can use
Soda Popper
for a link orSoda Popper
for the item's name.
- e.g.:
- In links to specific sections of pages, like
Medic strategy#Blutsauger
, the"/nl"
comes before the hashtag, so →Medic strategy/nl#Blutsauger
- Links to Wikipedia, like
Banana
becomeBanaan
Again, if you need any help whatoever, feel free to join us over at the IRC.
I didn't give you all of this information just for you to ignore it. I insist that you either read and apply it, or refrain from translating altogether. It might seem a bit crude, but I rather have no translations or do it myself than seeing the pages you write.
Please leave a message on my talk page or join us at the IRC if you disagree. Eels 10:49, 6 March 2013 (PST)
Translating + Image guidelines
Heyo. When translating, Any links that lead to other pages must have the /nl at the end. For example Engineer/nl. Also please re read the Image guidelines for User page images. Thanks. Ashes 01:36, 13 March 2013 (PDT) Haha thx for the info, good luck with that wiki-cap nomination :)
Style
I must insist that you read and apply the information Ashes and I gave you. The way you are translating right now contributes nothing to the wiki and only gives other /nl translators more work. Eels 08:13, 13 March 2013 (PDT) Sorry but my father is lying on the intensive care in the hospital at the moment and i want to put my mind in something else so i thought that translating and concentrating in something would help,i fully understand how it works now and i will try to make my edits better,so for example if there is Weapon i need to translate it to Wapen,if this is wrong please tell me,i really love translating on the wiki and i wouldn't want to quit.I will probably leave the editing now because my father probably wont make it till tommorow.
