War historians will appreciate the original medigun— still handy even though the invuln function shorted out after its first use.
Quick-Fix publicity blurb

The Quick-Fix is a secondary weapon for the Medic. It is a prototype Medi Gun with a group of three gauges on one side, a (cosmetic) ÜberCharge gauge on the other side, and what appears to be a blender for a body. The main gun is coupled with a medicinal reactor backpack with glowing portions that replaces Medic's default backpack.

Compared to the stock Medi Gun, the Quick-Fix heals players 40% faster and builds ÜberCharge 25% faster, but it has half the overheal capabilities, only able to raise health to 125% of maxmimum instead of 150%. As such, standard "pocketing" strategies(healing only one target and never taking the heal beam off of him) are less effective. It remains able to maintain greater overheal that has been obtained from another source. Deploying the ÜberCharge triples the healing rate and also heals the Medic at the same rate, while also providing immunity to all movement-impairing effects, such as knockback, stun, and slowdown; the charge does nothing to reduce incoming damage, making it ineffective against lethal damage.

In addition, the Quick-Fix allows the Medic additional mobility when he is actively healing patients. When healing a patient with a faster movement speed than the Medic, the Medic's speed will be increased to match the patient, allowing him to keep up with Scouts, Demomen that are charging with a shield, or teammates that have a weapon-boosted movement speed. When healing a patient that executes an explosive jump, the Medic receives an equal force in the same direction, allowing him to follow teammates that launch themselves across the map (although after the initial force the Medic must control his own flight). This effect only functions when healing a Soldier, Demoman, or Pyro, and it only works on Medics directly healing the patient (it cannot be transferred across a chain of Medics). Finally, when healing a patient that fires a Grappling Hook, the Medic will travel in the same direction at the same speed as the patient, and remain suspended until the hook or the healing is released.

The Quick-Fix was previously tested in Team Fortress 2 Beta. The Beta Quick-Fix, a separate variant of the weapon, was also available for use in the beta.

Bugs

  • Being set on fire will cause the player to lose the team-colored overlay when under the effects of the ÜberCharge.
  • Dying during an ÜberCharge may cause the ÜberCharge sound effect to play until the player disconnects, the map changes, or snd_restart is entered into the console, much like a previously patched bug with the Kritzkrieg.
  • Activating the ÜberCharge on a disguised Spy provides them with a healing aura of their team color instead of the disguised team's color.
  • A Spy disguised as a Medic with the Quick-Fix equipped will have the regular Medic backpack.
  • Despite stating otherwise, the ÜberCharge increases healing by 200% to 300% of normal, rather than raising it 300%.

Trivia

  • The model for the Quick-Fix was previously shown in concept art images for Meet the Medic, photographed in Valve Headquarters.
    • The Medic could be seen holding the Quick-Fix before the Über Update was revealed in the final page of Meet the Director.
  • The Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge was known as the Megaheal in the beta.
  • A "Quick Fix" in medical or industrial-repair terms refers to a hurried or temporary fix of a problem or injury. These remedies may not always work or may prove ineffective to stopping the problem entirely, referencing that the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge can still result in the death of both the Medic and his patient if enough damage is taken.
  • Dove droppings are seen on the main body of the Quick-Fix.
