Retired hats

- Two things. 1 Don't remove talk page posts like that. 2nd, The table shows items that CAN have an unusual effect. Not what can be uncrated in unusual. (Well technically it is still) But its just a list of what can have a particle attached to it. Ashes 15:06, 6 April 2013 (PDT)
Gifs
I think it'd be a good idea to replace the current example screenshots with .gif's, simply because they can so much better demonstrate how these particle effects actually look like in-game. - That was my idea, one video to demonstrate all particle effects. YouTube has the ability to link to a specific point in the timeline of a video, so there could be links for each effect on the Wiki page. Possible Unusual quality items is wrong

Human Cannonball

Change the example?
I noticed the example of an unusual hat features the Napper's Respite, but all the images on the page featuring unusual effects has the Pyro wearing the Brigade Helm. Could I change the example to feature the Brigade Helm just so the whole page features the same example hat? TheNoobThatWas 18:10, 14 May 2013 (PDT)
- There is a difference between the item infobox image and the actual effect images. We merely showcase the nappers as an example of, How it looks in the backpack. The effect gallery is fine. So don't change it. Ashes 18:22, 14 May 2013 (PDT)

The Titanium Tyrolean

Clipping Effects

- I am using my abilities of necroing to revive this! But anyways to be honest, nothing special actually happens, apart from that the items stack in color. I know this by my two Scout unusuals, my Blizzardy Storm Bonk Boy and my orbiting fire Bombing Run. Depending on the type of the unusual effect, it might clip, it might not. Unusual Offset
A while ago TF2 gave players the ability to adjust the offset for unusual/particle effects on certain hats and miscs. Should it be added how this affects the particle/item? It could be useful to note; I'd probably do it but as of right now I have no unusuals and the only hat I have that has this option the the World Traveler's, in which the option doesn't seem to do anything, so I really can't do a thing about this. - Probably adding two pictures or a video to show the difference would do it, so people can see how it changes/moves the effect. Total number
So, simple problem, the top of the page states that there are 133 items with unusual effects; I count 226 registered as existing on backpack.tf, ignoring the Cheater's Lament, the Ebenezer and Haunted Scrap, but counting the Headtaker. May not be the most reliable resource, but either way, 133 is pretty clearly wrong, since the list at the bottom of the page contains 225 unique items (discounting Team Captain and Private Eye repeats, counting the Headtaker). The counts are almost the same, I may have missed one here, since the arrangement isn't as easy to count. I'd suggest that 226 is probably the correct number, but would like someone else to verify before an edit. Buck Rampant (talk) 20:53, 10 August 2013 (PDT)
- You bring a good point. The # of total effects may have been updated. However the # of items that can have effects on them was never updated. (The count, not the template). Normally I would update it but it becomes a hassle to figure out, What can have an effect and what doesn't. So if you want, Get a total count then either edit it yourself or post it here. Bugs
So... Just realized but some of the unusual effects start off extraordinarily large....
I just got a power surge hat and the effect starts off the size of the 2fort map. It eventually slowly shrinks down to my head but kinda gives my position away when its at a semi medium size....Nibelhim (talk) 21:42, 4 October 2013 (PDT)

Unused Unusual
The particle inside the item_fx.pcf, has the particle called: unusual_aaa_aaa, which is an orbiting achievements trophies (see: Achievements). Since I don't know how to make those unusual pictures, I'm sharing to anyone that knows how to do it. Gabrielwoj (talk) 19:54, 5 April 2014 (PDT)
Recent changes to Unusuals
You guys dead or just becoming lazy? Some BIG stuff relating Unusuals have risen up since the Love and War update, with the Unusual Taunts, and Unusual Series #. I've already decided that Unusual Series means "old crate, old effect; new crate, new effect," based on the patch notes and what I read here: ( http://tf2finance.com/effects/ ). I'm hesitant to add anything right now to avoid speculation if this turns out to be false. However, I assume something can be done about the Unusual Taunts, if it is possible to show these using plugin, or do we have to wait until enough are unboxed? Scream Fortress 6 - New Unusual Effects

This is my first post so be easy on me, but can someone mention the new unusual effects in the Unusual article that came out with the 'Scream Fortress 6 Update'?
From what I've gathered, there are 6 new Unusual Effects and 2 new Unusual Effects for the Taunt's gained from the "Love & War Update".
Unusual Cosmetic Effects:
- The Ooze (Dark grey cloud above head with green smoke surrounding it + green eyes)
- Stare from beyond the Grave (Same as The Ooze, dark yellow colour instead of green)
- Amaranthine (Same as The Ooze, dark purple colour instead of green)
Edit: Just notice that the 3 Unusual Effects above are the same design as the 'floor' in the soccer and race car bumper car games in the Halloween version of Doomsday. - Bonzo the All-Knawing (Purple cloud with a design like the Bombinomicon without the bomb with green eyes and green spit occasionally spurting outwards)

- Haunted Phantasm (small green ghosts that appear above head and fly upwards)
- Haunted Phantasm Jr. (same as Haunted Phantasm but purple)
Unusual Taunt Effects:
- Haunted Phantasm (Same as the Haunted Phantasm Jr. but bigger and the ghosts rise from the ground
- Ghastly Ghosts (Same as the Haunted Phantasm Unusual Taunt Effect but Green)
Haven't been able to find any other sources than in game and from a video that strife did here
So yeah, we need some pictures showing the new Halloween Effects :) I could do them if someone told me how but yep. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Idea for unusual [not right place for dicussion]

Demonstrating effects in a HTML5 video
Selbi suggested to use gifs. That's not a good idea nowdays, but what if we use HTML5 video? Of course only if the user's browser supports it. Similar to painted hat images, first the user would see images, and if he hover an image, the page replaces it to a video clip, then loop it. If you think it'd be fine, I'm willing to remake the whole gallery in SFM, generate new images and videos using the "pyro template" for all effects, and code the javascript for it. Up-to-date preview images?
It seems like all of the current unusual images have a varying style from series to series, which is a bit inconsistent. I'd be willing to remake all of the images to be in the same style if you guys support it: a while back I made a few examples of some images that attempt to recreate the style of the originals. If you'd like to see what I've done, here's an album of 3 effects as examples (though a few things like the camera distance may change a bit depending on if the effects need more room once I make the actual images). I made a quick example map for these images, and tried to use a similar texture as the original previews. Would you guys support the current images being changed to something like this? If so, would the size the current examples are be good to display the details of the effect, or should it be larger/smaller? MrGhosts (talk) 20:46, 6 March 2015 (PST)

Huge update for the gallery incoming
Oh right, So I remade the entire gallery for the unusual hat effects (also unused effects), so I'm going to upload a lot of images soon, all of these in 1080 x 1080, made with Source Filmmaker. Here is a little preview.
And while I'm at it, I will upload the slightly edited map originally made by I-ghost and the session to the Source Filmmaker Workshop. Here is another preview.

Any reason for the Napper Respite?
All of the images showcasing the Unusual effects use the Brigade Helm, but the picture in the corner of the page uses the Nappers Respite. Any reason for this? Couldn't we just use the Bridgade Helm so it matches Ll the effect showcases? ScottishDrunkard (talk) 10:14, 20 October 2015 (PDT)
Unusual Weapon Effects
It's a bit weird how all the hat effects are put on a Brigade Helm but the weapon effects are by themselves. It gives one a very poor idea of how they look in game. I understand how it might be difficult choosing the weapon as the weapon chosen can make the effect look pretty different, but it's better than blank space.
