The Scout is the speed demon of Team Fortress Classic. His ability to steal the flag and capture [[List of game modes (Classic)#Control Points|control points is second to none thanks to his enhanced speed, but his weapons are exclusively based around self defence when needed and are not built for attacking. Having the lowest health and armour of all classes (excluding the Civillian), he must stay moving and alert in order to survive and help his teammates.

General Strategy

Offensive Scout

  • The Scout's main role is to capture the objective and escape. While out in the open, never stop moving.
  • If a enemy Sniper is giving your teammates trouble, try to distract him and lure him away.
  • Firing your Nailgun can help muffle the sound of you activating your Concussion Grenades.

Defensive Scout

  • As he has no effective weapons and the lowest health and armour in the game, the Scout has little defensive role in most circumstances. However, in some fights, he can be very useful when helping his teammates.
  • The Scout is capable of instantly disabling a Spy's disguise by simply touching them. This thus means that he can take on a defensive role of being the main Spychecker of his team. Run into as many teammates as possible, and if one of them turns into a enemy Spy, pull out your weapons and land as many shots on them as possible. If they get away, alert your teammates.
  • On the rare occasion that a Detpack appears in your base, if you do not hear any whirring, run over it to deactivate it.
