Limited Late Summer Crate #86
Description of the Limited Late Summer Crate #86 actually reads: "This crate contains one of the following Limited items: [insert item names] or an Exceedingly Rare Special Item or an Unusual Thirst Blood."
Note: The Unusual Thirst Bloods have increased unbox chance and can be unboxed in all 3 generations of normal Unusual effects (no Halloween or Robo-Crate effects, obviously). --Knusperfrosch (talk) 15:03, 28 September 2014 (PDT)
- The description is correct, I pulled it directly from the schema. The stuff about items and unusuals are separate settings rather than the actual description. --Omolong (talk) 15:13, 28 September 2014 (PDT)
- That doesn't change the fact that when you mouse-over a Late Summer Crate in your backpack, or look at it's description in the Steam Market, this is exactly what it says: "an Exceedingly Rare Special Item or an Unusual Thirst Blood". So what is that Rare Special Item, if it's not the same as the Scout unusual? Knusperfrosch (talk) 16:57, 3 October 2014 (PDT)
Widowmaker Strangifier
Does the Widowmaker Strangifier really have a unbox rate of 9.90%? There are usually less than 10 at the Steam Community Market, while there's over 70 of the other crate #85 strangifiers at any given time. I suppose it's possible that people are hoarding them, but it does seem like it has a lower unbox rate than the other items in crate #85. Valve giving it a lower unbox rate does make sense since the Strange Widowmaker was in the rare Salvaged Crate #40. Rolen47 (talk) 16:53, 14 October 2014 (PDT)
Festive items.
We need the tables for the Smissmas 2014, I would do them myself buy, 1. I dont know how to make a table and 2. Ive never seen the new cosmetics because I refuse to pay £1.59 for a key. ScottishDrunkard (talk) 10:45, 23 December 2014 (PST)
Unbox Rate
To add to this note, is there any reason why we bother with unbox rates when they are clearly wrong? In the new crate 90, obviously, the AWPer Hand rate is much less than everything else (at least from what I've seen) yet it's given the same frequency as everything else in the crate. If truly everything in a specific crate has an equal chance of appearing, can't it just be notified on the bottom line under the unusual chance note? It honestly just looks stupid when comparing certain cosmetic crates (like the 9 cosmetics in the late summer crate where its noted that each rate is listed and equal to the recent nice 2014 crate where there was numerous items and no mention of a rate is even mentioned). BASEBALLFURIES (talk) 00:41, 22 February 2015 (PST)
- "Drop rate is an estimate only." Yah, is very wrong, but Valve don't say the real drop rate. -By your friend (or not) File:User Tark sig.jpg ▪ File:User Tark sig2.jpg ▪ File:User Tark sig3.jpg ▪ File:User Tark sig4.jpg 07:34, 22 February 2015 (PST)
- That's precisely my point though- if Valve never stated any rate, why are we adding one that is obviously wrong? BASEBALLFURIES (talk) 02:30, 25 February 2015 (PST)
At the moment there are only 483 Strange AWPers in public backpacks logged by stats.tf while there are a whopping 10,415 Strange Wingers in public backpacks logged by stats.tf. The wiki listing rare stranges as having the same unbox rate as common stranges is very deceiving and isn't even an estimate. No one even tried to estimate the percentage before they created the table. Changing the percentage of rare stranges to 1% will at least make people realize that they are rare, so I'm going to do that. If someone wants to put in a more accurate estimate, feel free. I also suspect that the Widowmaker Strangifier is a rare unbox due to the low number of them that are available in Steam Community Market but since I don't have any hard proof and the item schema doesn't list it as a rare I'm not going to edit that one. Gun Mettle Unbox
I definitely feel that the estimates are incorrect. I have unboxed approximately 15 of the Gun Mettle cases, and only one has been anything above Mercenary grade. Taser9001 (talk) 18:29, 9 August 2015 (PDT)
- That may be true however we have to assume uniform unbox rates as any speculated ones tend to be more incorrect and or misleading. Ashes (talk) 18:34, 9 August 2015 (PDT)
- Isn't assuming a uniform box rate misleading in the first place?! Why not just leave it blank? The only purpose is to list the contents that could be inside not the actual rate. BASEBALLFURIES (talk) 23:20, 2 September 2015 (PDT)
Are these crates still active?
Unless I'm mistaken, after campaigns end the associated crates no longer drop but the crates from Gun Mettle, Tough Break and to lesser extent Halloween 2015 are still listed here. Shouldn't they be moved? Guybrush20X6 (talk) 08:01, 19 April 2016 (PDT)
New meet your match crates
no idea how to code, but if somebody could update the page with the #103 crate that would be great — The preceding unsigned comment was added by SwampFox (talk) • (contribs)
Case/Supply Munition separation
I'd suggest to remove the 2 different sections for cases and supply munition in favour of a time-ordered list. If nobody has something against it, I'll do that. — with love: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 13:07, 8 July 2016 (PDT)
Sandvich probability in #103
Based on the pricing (see market, TF2Outpost, etc...) and general availability (poor) of the strange sandvich coming out of #103, it seems quite likely that the probability of it is NOT even with the other weapons and parts, unlike how it's listed here. Thoughts? Slashproc (talk) 22:48, 18 July 2016 (PDT)
- Pricing is really based on demand and supply, it's not really related to the chance when unboxed, unless there's the proof that can tell it's have lower chance (which is really impossible because it's a weapon, not cosmetic which usually has lower chance to get from unboxing. Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 01:49, 19 July 2016 (PDT)
- Given that this is the only crate that provides a strange Sandvich, this is very much about supply. If you will take a moment to look around online, you'll see that all the other newly-strange weapons have a *far* higher availability for trade and/or purchase and much lower pricing. Granted the sandvich is a popular item, but it's literally an order of magnitude more expensive than the other items, if you can find it at all. As for different odds for weapons being "impossible," look at crates #92 and #90, which both exhibit that as already reported on this page. Slashproc (talk) 12:23, 20 July 2016 (PDT)
Some of them have been retired?
Out of curiosity I decided to check the uncommon crates on TF2 Tools and it hasn't detected new copies of a number of uncommon crates since October 21, 2015. Additionally while TF2 Tools shows the Summer 2013 Coolers continuing to be gifted, the Summer Claim Check itself appeared to stop dropping around that same time.
- Robo Community Crate - Last new ones detected October 19, 2015.
- Summer Appetizer Crate - Last new ones detected October 19, 2015.
- Summer Claim Check - Last new ones detected October 16, 2015.
- Fall 2013 Acorns Crate - Last new ones detected October 21, 2015.
- Fall 2013 Gourd Crate - Last new ones detected October 18, 2015.
- Mann Co. Strongbox - Last new ones detected October 21, 2015.
- End of the Line Community Crate - Last new ones detected October 21, 2015.
Unless there is any proof that these are still available in the drop system all the uncommon crates should probably be moved to the retired series. - Tasty Salamanders (talk) 08:11, 8 January 2017 (PST)
