"Craft" rather than "Drop"

Could the word "Craft" be more appropriate than "Drop" in the sub-row? After all, all the unlockables are also obtainable by random drop, while the others (Pain Train, Homewrecker, etc.) can be crafted with a specific blueprint.--Kid Of The Century 07:45, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps Craft/Drop -Firestorm 07:48, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Makes it clearer, the Drop term is just what I made up when I ran roughshod over the template one night as well as all the weapon pages. --Org 12:52, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Organization?

Is it possible to make the chart a little cleaner? It's hard to distinguish what is an unlock, and what are drops/crafted. Perhaps alternating highlighted lines? The demoman's section, for example, is not easy to distinguish. --ManaTree 02:06, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Golden Wrench

Golden Wrench should be in "special" section, not "promotion". --SandeProElite 21:57, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

It was promoting the Engineer update -- Benjamuffin Om nom nom! 22:08, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Promotion in the sense that it was given as a gift to promote the purchasing of a different product, like Bill's Hat for L4D2 and the Sam and Max weapons. I'll fix it up. seb26 (talk) 22:15, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
I understood the terminology. I wouldn't be a member of any wiki if I couldn't grasp such a thing. I was simply thinking of practicality. Regardless of the intention of the category, the Golden Wrench fits fine given the reason above. There's no need for a whole new category. -- Benjamuffin Om nom nom! 22:25, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
I wasn't criticising you, it's just promoting the Engineer update seemed like a bit of a stretch with the term promotion. I went ahead and changed it anyway as it really is only minor. If there is a promotional melee weapon coming out then we'll just change it back. No hassle :) seb26 (talk) 22:32, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Ah I didn't mean to come across harsh in any way so I apologize if it did. Fair enough on the choice, but to further poke a dead horse as it were, I thought this might help:

"Promotion keeps the product in the minds of the customer and helps stimulate demand for the product. Promotion involves ongoing advertising and publicity" -- Benjamuffin Om nom nom! 22:35, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Also I owe you a smile. :) -- Benjamuffin Om nom nom! 22:35, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Unlock/Drop distinction intentional

I think we discussed previously that you don't "unlock" community made weapons therefore they get their own distinction as "drop" weapons. -- Pilk (talk) 22:32, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

"Unlock" meaning through random drops, or through achievements, because it can work both ways. Distinguishing between weapons that can be unlocked through the latter seems unnecessary to me. It seems better to just keep all non-standard weapons together. Agree / disagree? seb26 (talk) 22:41, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
