Trivia
If we're going to cite the Christian Bible, should we at least have a link to the passage?Reverend 13:09, 28 March 2012 (PDT)
- I removed it because it was speculation. rZ 13:11, 28 March 2012 (PDT)
Yea, I noticed it was gone immediately after I posted this. Thanks. Reverend 13:12, 28 March 2012 (PDT)
Possible reference
Might be just me, but I think the name given to this hat makes a reference to Aqua's song "Lollipop (Candyman)" Superdude 13:54, 28 March 2012 (PDT)
- We don't permit speculative trivia, sorry. rZ 13:56, 28 March 2012 (PDT)
Its a reference to the song Pootis man, which in turn is a reference to to Candyman. And its not very speculative, its pretty obvious valve intended the reference, especially since the song has almost 200,000 views.Spencer102 18:44, 30 March 2012 (PDT)
- I hope that's a joke. All jokes aside, if Valve doesn't specifically say it's a reference, we can't label it as a reference. rZ 05:13, 2 April 2012 (PDT)
Jiggledboned?
Through modelviewer I saw no evidence the tag was jiggleboned, it was stiff the entire time. - Devozade 04:28, 29 March 2012 (PDT)
Is obtaining it limited to Secret Saxtons?
I know I wrote Secret Saxtons, but it occurred to me before nodding off into never never land that there are three ways one can give a gift:
1) Is of course Secret Saxtons: http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Secret_Saxton 2) Pile o' Gifts: http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Pile_o%27_Gifts 3) Gifting (as opposed to sending through trade) an item that's been gift wrapped: http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Gift_wrap
It's very probable that the hat will be distributed by the most Secret Saxtons given through single Secret Saxtons and Pile o' Gifts (which I'll add immediately after this post), but could this mean gifting gift wrapped items. If so, is there a way to test this hypothesis. If not, is there an indication of why gifting gift wrapped items are ineligible?
Thanks.

- It very likely counts exactly as Spirit of Giving does. — C2Talon (c/t) 12:53, 29 March 2012 (PDT)
- Limited to Secret Saxtons and Pile o' Gifts -- probably, but definitely? I guess time will tell. Reverend 13:47, 29 March 2012 (PDT)
Paint & Tags
When using this TF2 Items list it can be seen that the hat appears to keep the colour it has been painted with between owners. The Dueler hat was named by the second owner, but has not kept the name to the next, it could have been restored to remove the name though. - Devozade 03:25, 2 April 2012 (PDT)
- Check whether or not the level stays the same between owners, paint, name, etc. It's possible two people painted the same hat the same color two days in a row. I'm still skeptical whether or not the paint, name and level stay the same between owners. rZ 05:10, 2 April 2012 (PDT)
- While it'd be cool if it kept that info, it doesn't seem likely, unless the game "trades" the item to the next person instead of removing it from one person and adding it to the others backpack as 2 separate items. Balladofwindfishes 05:17, 2 April 2012 (PDT)
- The item level stays the same according to that list too. - Devozade 06:38, 2 April 2012 (PDT)

Yep it just brings the hat back, the Philateler is back after being deleted, but it has the same item level again. - Devozade 01:48, 6 April 2012 (PDT)
List of hat owners
Should there be a page similar to the List of Community item owners for these 3 hats? Upgrade 14:30, 8 April 2012 (PDT)
- I think not, check zis discussion. r4wrzSwagmaster 14:32, 8 April 2012 (PDT)
Item level
Yes when the item was generated it was given a random level between one and one hundred, but now it seems like the level given on the first day will stick with the items forever, even when deleted. Is it worth pointing out this in some manner? - Devozade 16:51, 13 April 2012 (PDT)
Team-colored glow
The intro states that the hat gives off a team-colored glow when unpainted, but the paint templates show that the glow changes with the paints. Can anyone clear this up?
Also are you able to see the hat through walls such as the portals in Portal 2 and team members in LFD? 07:47, 16 April 2012 (PDT)
- As to the first comment I don't really follow. The glow counts as part of the hat so acts exactly like part of any other hat that has team coloured parts that get painted over. Also in part it answers the second comment here. It's not a glow like the payload or ctf glow. It's part of the hat and doesn't show through walls it just gives the hat an aura or such when you look at it directly. - Devozade 06:37, 17 April 2012 (PDT)
- To clarify my first comment, I had envisioned that the glow would remained team-colored while the hat elements would be painted. I felt the description was misleading because it states that the hat gives off a team-colored glow (i.e. red and blue) while the paint templates show that the glow changes color with paints. However, I realized that this was the convention with all team-colored hat pages.
- In essence, the paints will paint over the team-colored glow as well as painting the hat elements. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Slifin/screenshot/559813303719766808 15:09, 18 April 2012 (PDT)
