Skins are user-created modifications that change the appearances of weapons, Hats, and player models. Skins are unofficial and are not supported by Valve. Skins cannot be used on servers configured with sv_pure = 2, which forces the client to ignores all user content, including custom sprays. Skins have also been used to cheat, as they can turn models into wireframe views that let you see behind walls. Some skins can increase the range of melee weapons while others can cause characters to be brightly colored, making them more visible. Some weapons, such as the Homewrecker and the Dalakohs Bar, began as skins and were later contributed into the game. Most skins can be downloaded at fpsbanana.com.
Installing skins can be difficult for first time users, in that case skins for TF2 can be installed via this directory steam/steamapps/<accountname>/team fortress 2/tf so on and so forth depending on where you need install it (Maybe a weapon sound mod, you would most likely need to go to tf/sound/weapons)
