Hello, Mr.Guy271!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User The Combine to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:The Combine/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Edit Wars

Not interested in starting an edit war so I will let another fix your mistakes. Please do not make an edit and revert it when it is undone simply because you disagree. If you want, explain it. This isn't Bioshock or League of Legends wiki either. Zenzile (talk) 07:14, 15 May 2014 (PDT)

Your logic sucks. I said every wikia puts character voice actor in trivia. If you are so stupid to think that every other wikia is wrong and this one is right, then that's YOUR problem, not the readers problem.

Please stop with the insults. It should remain in the character bio not the trivia as it is an important part of the character. Zenzile (talk) 07:14, 15 May 2014 (PDT)
My opinion is backed up by all other wiki's and yours is not.

This is a wiki, "wikia" is a website. No comment otherwise.--Henke37 (talk) 07:18, 15 May 2014 (PDT)

Putting my input in here. I'd say that the voice actor is an important thing to note, it's similar to saying that an item was contributed to the workshop or mentioning the contributors of an item. It's not irrelevant or trivial information at all. It could perhaps be moved into the infobox, but it's definitely not trivia. In addition, just because certain wikias put information in certain places, doesn't mean we have to do the same on this wiki. Different places have different policies and so on, and not all of them are consistent across each other. Finally, your attitude is quite bad currently. Insults and everything towards people are completely unnecessary, and can potentially lead to you getting blocked if you keep it up. I hope this helps you understand it all. By the way, you should really use ~~~~ to sign your posts, and using the correct number of : at the start of lines will help align your posts with the ones above correctly. --Omolong (talk) 07:26, 15 May 2014 (PDT)
Please show me in your wikia policy where trivia such as voice actor belongs in the bio. ~~~~
Also, I don't take kindly to people undoing my hard work to improve this wiki because they are afraid of change. If you don't have valid logic to counter my logic, then you are going to have a bad time.- Mr.Guy271
If you keep this up you are just going to be banned. Your edits were undone as they were not improving the wiki. We would all appreciate if you just stop arguing over this small edit. This is important information that, as Omolong said, is not trivial or something to be put to small information. The voice actor is a big part of the character. Please accept that your edits has been undone and stop the edit war before you'll get blocked. File:User Fuffeh Foxi.png Fuffeh

Voice actors are listed in the initial opening to a class' page as we as a community feel that it is important enough to warrant being front and centre, given that they provide life to the classes. Check here for an example. This Wiki is not associated with the Wikia network so none of their policies apply here. Have a good day. i-ghost (talk) 07:57, 15 May 2014 (PDT)
Please edit according to the policies of THIS wiki. Every wiki is unique, and will have different policies. For example, the left for dead wiki, one of these "wikias" disallows trivia as a whole. The Kerbal space program wiki allows fan fiction, but they are disscussing if it should be disallowed. TL;DR: help:Style guide Star=3Horder 08:16, 15 May 2014 (PDT)

This is the last time I will say anything. I will address everyone in the argument.

Zenzile- I first became irritated with you when you undid my first edit to the engineer page. I saw the word "amiable" in the first sentence describing him, and I honestly didn't even know what the word means. I thought the wiki should be easy to understand and read, so i looked up synonyms with "amiable", and found "friendly", a term more people would understand. I then edited "ingenious devices" to "machines" because that again is easier to understand and read. You go ahead and undo my edit with the logic that "the page was fine as it is". I honestly feel like there is some sort of quota for undoing edits that you were just trying to fill, I see no other reason for deciding that a wiki page should have more big words which younger readers such as myself cannot understand. Then, I noticed that all the voice actors are listed in the front bio of each characters page. This came off to me as strange and pointless, I thought the purpose of a gaming wiki page was to provide useful information to the reader first, and then...well...trivial information in the...TRIVIA. Knowing which voice actor did the voice for a character should not, in my opinion, be above the more useful information about a character such as stats. I apologize for insulting you, that was immature of me, but you gotta understand how frustrating getting your edits undone and effectively wasting your time can be, especially for a 14 year old.

Henke37- your post that I said Wikia accidentally was not helpful. Please do not be a grammer nazi, no one likes grammer nazis.

Fuffeh- You pretty much just picked sides with Zenzile with his same logic. For all I know, you could just be the same person on a different account, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt. I will stop the edit war and will not make another message on this topic again after this one.

I-ghost- Thank you for your solid evidence you gave me, it was the most convincing argument I read here. I question whether 3 moderators can really represent the whole TF2 community, but I do respect your argument nonetheless.

RobTheStarCollector- I don't see how my edits were against your policies, and feel like the desire to keep the voice actor in the bio is more along the lines of your personal choice than the rules. But I will stop pushing this because I honestly don't see a scenario where I can out-argue 4 people

Please at least consider my edits to the engineer page to make it easier to read, I don't understand how that one was not helpful. I don't care about the voice over anymore, do with it what you will. Mr.Guy271 (talk) 08:24, 15 May 2014 (PDT)
