Basic Information
Health: 50
Armor: No

The Civilian is a playable class in the Team Fortress series. It is only playable in QWTF, ETF, and Team Fortress Classic.

Role

The Civilian was the 'escort' in VIP maps for Team Fortress Classic, he is only armed with the Umbrella.

His role was to reach the evacuation point before being assassinated by the assassins. The Hunted must reach the truck alive. The Assassins need to kill The Hunted. The Bodyguards need to protect The Hunted. Scoring: If The Hunted dies, the Assassins get 25 points. If The Hunted reaches the truck, he and the Bodyguards get 50 points.

Other Notes: Whenever The Hunted dies or makes it to the truck, all players are moved back to their starting positions.

Trivia

  • The Civilian makes a brief cameo in the Meet the Sniper video for Team Fortress 2 as a bobblehead sitting on the dashboard of the Sniper's camper. The Sniper flicks the head, making it bob while saying "Boom. Headshot."
  • The Spy's Beta suit may be a reference to the suit worn by the Civilian from Team Fortress Classic, as they are very similar, right down to the striped tie and armbands. This suit can still be seen by viewing the Spy's HUD icon.
  • Several glitches have arisen over the history of Team Fortress 2 which will allow players to appear in an odd, non-moving form of their currently selected class, where the player has 50 health and has no weapons or forms of attack. This glitch is named the Civilian because it is the result of code left over from early Team Fortress 2 development, where the beta team was experimenting with adding the Civilian to Team Fortress 2.
