Talk:List of references (Sniper)
Re: Batman Reference: Was the quote added in a later update possible, after The Dark Knight had been released? Michael 22:35, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Nope. On release. -- Smashman... (t • s) 22:36, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

- No, it was an original clip. Now, I wasn't around for TF2 for orginal release but the fact that Melee Dare has been in the files for a long time, and that I played with these sounds on Garry's Mod before "The Dark Knight", means it is not a reference but a coincidence. Proposed Re-formatting
I have already made the following proposal for the Demoman references page, but as all of these pages follow the same formatting I'm making the same points here. The reference pages are, to be honest, a bit of a mess. I think it would work alot better and be neater overall if the reference pages were all set out in a more standard format; using sections such as "Achievements", "Weapons", and "Taunts" instead of making random headings simply for one tiny piece of trivia. People looking for an explanation of an achievement or taunt (many of which are fairly obscure) won't want to trawl through a list of meaningless titles like "History and Politics" (which has only one topic), "Music" and "Organisations".
My proposed new format would be far mose user-friendly to people searching for the meaning behind a specific phrase or achievement. I'll go ahead and try it out on the Demoman page if no objections are made within the next few days, then if it works out we can format the rest of these pages.

- I've finished re-formatting this page - just got the Spy one to do. Still working on the rest of the achievements. Please leave any feedback on the new layout on my Talk Page.
'Bloody fruit shop owners' a reference to the film Chopper?
I recently watched the 2000 Australian film Chopper, and at the part where Chopper Read is talking to two guys in a bar or café or something, I heard him say "bloody fruit shop owners", an insult Sniper also uses ("This is gonna be a real piece of piss, you bloody fruit shop owners!"). But I wasn't paying much attention, and I might have misheard. Can we have some confirmation here?--Old martins (talk) 08:20, 19 June 2014 (PDT)
Be Efficient / Be Polite / Have a Plan / Kill Everyone You Meet ---- Achievement Reference Source
I feel like stating this phrase matches United States Marine Corps standards needs a source- and I can't find one. From what I can find, the Phrase "Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet" is a quote attributed to General James Mattis, and later circulated online in various "rules of the Marines" lists on "cool facts" websites and emails. He may be the General of the Marine Corps but this is very different from the quote being a standard of the Marines (It's nowhere in the rules of engagement, for example.) Unless someone can produce a source that this is a policy, training standard, or official vision statement of the Marine Corps, this page should be edited to properly attribute the quote.
