Completely unnecessary or what? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ereht olleH (talk) • (contribs) 03:22, 15 November 2010
- Completely unnecessary. Also please remember to sign your comments with ~~~~. Moussekateer 03:26, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Whenever I click the "Random Page" link on the left it usually brings up a random page in a language that isn't English. This frustrates me as an English user and I'm sure it also frustrates people who speak a different language like French to click the random page link and receive a link in Japanese. Is there any way we can have language-specific random page links? MR SLIN 13:04, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- We would if we could: Team Fortress Wiki:Discussion#Random Page gives mostly non-English pages :( --CruelCow (talk) 13:11, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
This place is missing a guide that lists things that you shouldn't do on this wiki, like deleting posts and whatnot. I find it odd that it isn't immediately searchable or findable in one FAQ page or similar. (nanosheep_inc) 03:36, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- We have Help in the navigation for that information. Personally, I think Rules implies users will be punished if they do not abide by our guidelines, however us staff and the guidelines are here to help new users get into the practises and procedures we abide by here - not punish those who make mistakes. However as you never made the connection that Help would list our guidelines, I wouldn't be surprised if other contributors haven't made that connection either; so I think we would have to do something to make that clearer. -RJ 17:51, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah I think "Rules" is harsher than "Help" so it should stay the way it is. MR SLIN 08:45, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Sandman Wall glitch
I dont know if this has been posted before but i found this glitch in game. While using the sandmans baseball, run back and forth toward a wall hitting the ball. Make sure to go strait and to keep the ball going in a strait line towards the wall. It might take awhile but it should eventually "disapear". To see what actual happens do it to a glass wall and do it. What you'll see is that it goes strait threw the wall and still hurt the enemy. --Delterz 04:08, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- It's a known exploit, and documented here. ~

(talk ▪ contrib) 05:55, 1 November 2010 (UTC) - Yeah, I've actually done it before myself. Maybe Valve will patch it, maybe they won't. ~PeacekeeperRen 00:06, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- It's not really a significant issue so don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon. Misterslin 15:21, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Unofficial Community Content
I've noticed that nearly all of the unofficial community content (Mods, maps, etc.) are stubs, marked for cleanup, ect. Do we really need these? There is FPSbanana. That would clean up a LOT of the wiki. --Kurathedog 21:53, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think the general consensus is that we add pages for custom content if it is notable. That is, for example, if a map has been adopted in comp play, is featured on a bunch of servers, etc. ~

(talk ▪ contrib) 21:54, 6 November 2010 (UTC)- Instead of asking to delete them, why not contribute to them instead? That would be most helpful.--Focusknock s 21:57, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with lhavelund. Only notable content should be added to, anything irrelevant or not noteworthy should be marked for deletion. Cidem 06:46, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- I too agree with IHavelund, there are so many maps that are not played or will ever have anything noteworthy to write about Z Overlord 02:41, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- I also agree. I think we should only include Stock maps or maps that are so frequently played that they are worth noting. An example that comes to mind was cp_freight before they made it an official map. Something of that level.Misterslin 15:22, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Polycount Pin List?
Since we already have lists for community weapons and self-made items, I think we should make a Polycount Pin list, and possibly include the links to the Polycount threads for each submission. Wowza 23:57, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
- Good idea (for what it's worth, Wowza has been helping me with some tables of content). We can also do Golden Wrench listings. ~

(talk ▪ contrib) 23:58, 8 November 2010 (UTC) - I agree, I like this idea myself. I think it would be interesting to see who has those items.~PeacekeeperRen 00:08, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- This is already available at Tf2 Backpack Examiner. ~Lime Blue 2029, November 14th 2010.
sounds good I'd would forward the idea! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Round-the-clock (talk) • (contribs)

New facts. Seriously.
I've been staring at the same facts for quite a while. Let's get some new facts, and a new featured article. ~ lhavelund
(talk ▪ contrib) 14:31, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sort of new here, so I don't know this. Does this wiki have a monthly or weekly update for the facts or featured articles, or does it stay until changed by someone of higher power?~PeacekeeperRen 00:12, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think he may be referring to the "Featured Article" and the "Did you know?" sections on the main page. I agree someone should go in and change them on a regular basis. Misterslin 15:29, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- I always thought that the admins were the ones who regularly rotated the facts in and out. Usually I just add a fact to the page (after checking that it hasn't been repeated) and let others take care of changing the front page ones out. --LordKelvin 17:28, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- Done Rotated the facts. I'm not sure if we have a proper rotation system in-place, i.e. every month or so. I'll start a discussion about it and I invite you guys to join in here. -RJ 17:51, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Dunno where else to put this
On the left hand side, under the search tool, there are some links for Team Fortress Classic. Wouldn't it make more sense to link to Main Page (Classic) instead of team fortress classic wikia? Psychopath 23:04, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. I was thinking this very same thing last night while reviewing some TFC material. We should try to keep links to "in-house" material when the information is available - K-Mac 16:26, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Seccret audio responses
today i got some kills under water (also 1 domination i think) and i heard the engineer saying something that i can't find on the audio repsones page ,its was something like: 6 feet under, or do i have to to say 6 feet down under
is this real with every class?-- Jem (talk) • (contribs) 20:28, 13 November 2010
- What you describe is the Engineers Domination line for the Sniper. see here. It is not a secret or hidden audio response. --Focusknock s 19:31, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
- ah, i couldn't find it. and because i was underwater, and it sayd 6 feet under, i thought it had something to with the water. thanks

Haven't had any item drops for a week!
Now, I've already posted this same question on the Steam Forums and Steam Support and neither one has been any help so here goes.
Last week I went on an achievement server in team fortress 2 that I've never been on ("Achievement_Dr Cola" or something like that). Now, when Wednesday came and the item drops started to restart for everyone, I got two item drops on the morning of Thursday, and then I went on that achievement server again (because I thought it was pretty neat and I hadn't thought that that might be the cause of the item drop issues). Now it is Saturday and I haven't gotten a single item drop since Thursday!
Now Steam Support is telling me that I should wait it out but no items for weeks is pretty bad. So, I would like to know if any of you guys know of any alternative solution besides "wait it out."Hazmatt 23:04, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- You just got exceptionally unlucky. Those two drops reached your drop cap. The fact that you were on an idle server does not mean you lose any items. -- Firestorm 03:31, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. This has happened to me several times (only about 5 drops a week). Best bet is to wait it out and if it does not improve in a few weeks try playing on "more popular" servers. If the idle server loses connection to steam master servers(and you don't notice), you may not be receiving your drops due to that, but that is kind of a stretch. Hope that helps K-Mac 06:15, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
