Hello, InfernalShroom!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User InfernalShroom to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:InfernalShroom/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Wait a minute

Hey InfernalShroom. I know you just joined, but you gotta slow down to cover some rules.

Firstly, please make use of the Show preview button. It gives you a preview of the edit you are making, allowing you to perfect your changes before you save the page. You can edit the whole article by clicking the edit button at the top of the page, which is preferable to editing multiple sections consecutively.

Secondly, in your edits you are linking WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much. How would you like it if every page looked like this? You only need to link an item once, generally the first time the word is used on the page.

Thirdly, you're going to need to familarize yourself with the workings of the wiki. To start, we have an instructional video series you can watch that will give you the basics. Secondly in the Help tab we have a style guide for every type of page on the wiki. I suggest you read up on it so you'll be more consistent with the wiki.

I know you just signed up today and are itching to get started, but you gotta learn to walk before you learn how to run. Thanks, and welcome. :) --User Dr. Scaphandre Golden Ghastly Gibus.png Dr. Scaphandre 20:59, 6 August 2016 (PDT)

Welcome!

Welcome to the TF2 Wiki!

A few things you need to know about talk pages:

1. When replying to a topic, format it like this:

Hi ~~~~

The colon in front is to indent your reply to make it more legible. If you're replying to someone's reply, count the number of colons they used, and add another colon.

Example:

cake Anyar (talk) 17:07, 24 February 2017 (PST)

no Anyar (talk) 17:07, 24 February 2017 (PST)
what Anyar (talk) 17:07, 24 February 2017 (PST)

Also, make sure to sign your posts on Talk Pages (and on talk pages only). That means, put ~~~~ at the end of your post.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for welcoming me!

I appreciate that you left me a welcome message on my profile, it means alot to me! However, I already know how to use the wiki platform that the Team Fortresss 2 wiki uses, but thanks for the advice!

Hi

I am not new to wiki as I have more than 20k edits on wikipedia and wikia combined but here on tf2 wiki things don't quite seem the same. Thus I would like to ask a few question if possible. Well first, is citation needed in here? Cause I haven't seen any of those in most (if not all) pages. Second, is there any gadgets here that help editing? Like in wikipedia we have hotcat, tools that show sign in local time, etc. And one more not really an important question: By "Official wiki" does it mean that valve own this wiki instead of Jimmy Wales? And also who daf in the right mind would love dustbowl and any ctf map at all? Like srsly-AINH (talk) 14:51, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
