Users who complete the required number of objectives must go to the promotion page and click the "Unlock Hat" button to have the hat added to their backpack. If the user already has the Bounty Hat or Treasure Hat, it can be upgraded to the Hat of Undeniable Wealth And Respect when 28 objectives are met. To do this, simply re-claim the hat from the treasure hunt page.

- The hat was teased before its true appearance was unveiled, appearing as a question mark model in the game's files and backpack images.
- The orange Steam mascot, Tappet, frequently shows a question mark above it's head when confused, much like the original place holder model for this hat. A visual example is from The Great Steam Treasure Hunt banner on the 14th and 15th December.
