Revision

The recent shortstop nerf (reload time increase) changes the strategy of the weapon a lot, so i think someone should rewrite most if not all the shortstop strategy, as most of the techniques described in that section rely on spamming shots, which you can't really do anymore. i'd do it myself but i'm not really up to it.--Viking977 09:19, 23 October 2011 (PDT)

I would like to work on revising this page. I need suggestions from more experienced members on what I should do.

I'd like to clean this place up a bit too. Some information repeats, and isn't organized very well.Ssssssmokin 01:16, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
I added subcategories to general. While imperfect, it can be a start to cleaning up the class pages.Ssssssmokin 17:06, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Subcategories to general is a great idea. In fact, I have done the same thing to Pyro's page. I will see if there are better ways to organize the one on Scout's page; however, your way of organizing the General section is another format that I'll take as a suggestion to cleaning up the messy general section of the other Community Strategy pages. ----- Davtwan 05:41, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
One of the things I noticed was that, in the weapon set marked as "for medieval mode", they say that you should use the scatter gun or shortstop to hit enemies from far away to drop health packs... the problem is that you can NEVER use the scattergun nor the shortstop in medieval mode due to it being... well... medieval. I'm not quite sure how to re-write it, though.--Sinez 12:36, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
EDIT never mind, I read it wrong. I missed the line that said "in normal play"--Sinez 20:43, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I too would request a revision of the shortstop's strategy page. As previously stated, the quick reload of the shortstop no longer applies, voiding most of the current strategies that associate with it. If needed, I can clean up the shortstop section, but it is recommended that someone with considerable knowledge take a crack at it first before anyone else messes with it. Just added the bottom three tips on using the Baby Face's Blaster. I based the tips on my own playstyle, and how I've observed others'. I also added the very bottom tip on the Soda Popper, also based on the common strategy of how to easily counter the Soda Popper as Pyro, along with the obvious ease of evading a Sniper. Feel free to remove the Sniper portion of the tip, if you do not believe it contributes to the main idea. A fetus (talk) 11:03, 8 October 2014 (PDT)

Would say this deserves a revision with the lack of some important information and repetivity, the fact that scout receives constant nerfs with the page untouched means it should be given attention.Overall, most of the data is outdated and the strategy isn't that really good anymore. It needs a real revision right now.Wikipteratraverser (talk) 10:46, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

Cleanup

Just cutting through the forest of comments here, Trying to be ruthless on the notes as to create an efficient article. Manta 06:42, 26 September 2011 (PDT)

  • I'm already cutting through all of the Community Strategy pages for giant cleanup. I finished the Engineer strategy pages last night. Try to delete just the ones that are useless tips or are awkwardly worded to the point of being unsavable. User RagnarHomsar Userlink.png RagnarHomsar 07:09, 26 September 2011 (PDT)
The engie one is far from done I say. It's just walls and walls of text about overly specific examples of very little value. Manta 08:30, 26 September 2011 (PDT)
As long as it isn't redundant or worded so awkwardly it's unsaveable, it shouldn't be deleted. User RagnarHomsar Userlink.png RagnarHomsar 11:32, 26 September 2011 (PDT)

Slight annoyance at weapon combinations

The weapon combinations are fine, but i find it annoying that all reskins are listed in the same box; we have "Bat or Saxxy or Conscientious Objector or Festive Bat or Frying Pan" when they are all the same thing. It kinda looks messy this way. Shouldn't it just read "Bat or reskins"?Modulus365 20:29, 19 August 2012 (PDT)

  • Agreed. I think I'm going to go through all the Strategy articles and clean up these combinations. VinLAURiA 17:16, 23 December 2012 (PST)

The soda popper, crit-a-cola and fan-o-war are not a good combo. Continueous min-crits sound good, but the fan-o-war is redundant. K-Raider NL 06:22, 7 September 2012 (PDT)

  • I'm the one who put that there. Regardless of what you think of the effectiveness, the combos are supposed to be subjective suggestions. Just leave it. VinLAURiA 17:19, 23 December 2012 (PST)

Inconsistency

Anyone notice this part of the Boston Basher strategy guide: "By combining the boost of the Boston Basher with the 3 jump ability of the Force-A-Nature or Atomizer, you can jump over long stretches of a map."? I mean, shouldn't it be changed to remove the part about the Atomizer?Wamesy 15:55, 1 May 2013 (PDT)

WP:Be bold. If it makes no sense to you, remove it and put your reason in the edit summary. Darkid (talk|contribs) 15:57, 1 May 2013 (PDT)

Weapon Heckling

I've seen several pages create a link to a "Weapon Heckling" section on this page (or to the Weapon Heckling page itself, which redirects to the same place), but it doesn't exist. Could someone who knows about weapon heckling create this section to fix the problem? Dry Paratroopa (talk) 12:15, 24 July 2013 (PDT)

Better question is. Why is the redirect being linked on the page its redirecting to. Ashes (talk) 12:24, 24 July 2013 (PDT)
If someone could find a workaround to that, that'd be great. I tried just using the #WeaponHeckling for the link, but that didn't work. Anyar (talk) 17:36, 14 February 2017 (PST)

Outdated information about weapon combination

Hello there! I noticed outdated information in weapon combinations again, but this time in the scout section. In combination "Force-A-Nature - Pistol/Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol - Atomizer", the Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol has immunity to fall damage and 20% resistance to all damage, but it doesn't have such statistics now. And in combination "Baby Face's Blaster - Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol - Bat/Candy Cane" it was written again that the Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol has immune to fall damage. Please correct this because my English is not good enough for that. Герамтур (talk) 22:12, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
