Gibson is a King of the Hill map set in the barren wastelands of the Badlands. The goal is for either team to capture the secret spytech base under the control point and the rocket. There are many hints that the coal mines of Gibson are a facade for spytech equipment for both teams, with many computers being hidden away behind doors and windows. Gibson supposedly takes place close to the actual map Badlands.
Gibson has a Halloween version called Hauntson.
Locations
- The Rocket: At the center of the map next to the control point is a large rocket that sits upon a large building. There are several health and ammo packs, and players can use it to flank the control point.
- The Train Buildings: Each team has a building that is connected to a train bridge. Snipers can use it as an advantage point to snipe from.
Trivia
- Various guitars can be found around the map, which are a reference to Gibson guitars.
- A Soldier and a Pyro can be seen in a room behind BLU's spawn.
- Despite taking place in the Badlands, the actual Gibson desert that the map is partially named after is in Australia.
