Hello, Napageorge!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Napageorge to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Napageorge/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Show preview

Hi there, Please use the "Show preview" button at the bottom of the page. This allows you to preview your changes before actually making them, such as on the TFC Heavy page. This is spamming the recent changes log, as well as making it unnecessarily difficult to review edits you have made.

Turbine page

Hi there,

Please see the map style guide page before making a map page. Also note that your map needs to be notable in at least some way, currently Turbine pro is not ran in any notable league. I've left the images if you want to move the page to user space. I will delete the images after a few hours if they remain unused on user space. If you do intend to use them on your user space, please move them first and add "User Napageorge" as a prefix.

New pages

Hi there,

Making new pages should be done on a sandbox page under your user space, such as User:Napageorge/Emblems. Once you've completed a page, it's best to ask a staff member for approval of a page (although not necessary, it may be deleted once it's on the main wiki space if it's not necessary). Note that any images should be listed under your user space by adding "User Napageorge" as a prefix to the image (such as "User Napageorge Profile Picture.png").

Your Emblems page has been deleted because it is not a necessary page, it'll only contain a set of images, this can already be found here as well as on the individual class pages.

Strategy pages and overall writing style

Hi there,

Please see the Community Strategy and the general style guide.
Note that strategy pages specific to a gamemode should have tips that are useful for that gamemode, not have generic tips that apply to the game everywhere.

Furthermore, the usage of proper English grammar and spelling (such as starting sentences with a capital letter and ending sentences with a form of punctuation) is required on the wiki. For example, in your Community Player Destruction strategy edit, the second sentence doesn't start with a capital and doesn't end with a period. Other things such as none of the class names being capitalised and awkward sentences are problematic. For example: Still heal everyone (leader and power classes have top of order) and overheal everyone as well. could be reworded to be Make sure to still (over)heal everyone (with priority given to the Team Leader and powerful classes such as Demomen, Soldiers, and Heavies). This makes the sentence much easier to read, also note that "power classes" is not a term generally recognised by everyone in the community (mainly being a Commuunity Competitive term).

December 21, 2010 patch

Hi there,

The December 21, 2010 patch you've translated appears to be in what looked like Danish, as opposed to Dutch. I've deleted it, but you might want to move it to the appropriate language category as well as looking at the language style guide to see how to properly translate pages.

Translating languages

Hi there,

Please keep to translating languages you know natively, it appears your latest translation of the July 8, 2022 Patch to German (according to a native German speaker) was of low quality and partially used machine translation. Know that machine translation is absolutely forbidden.

Show preview (again)

Hi there,

Please make sure to use the Show Preview button at the bottom when editing and to use the "edit" button at the top instead of editing every section individually. Currently you are spamming the RC log with several edits and it makes it hard to verify when it can all easily be done in a single edit.
