I hope you guys won't mind the black background for the weapon image. The milk is just too white to look good in a transparent background. Rong 11:43, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Black background : That's exactly why we replaced the Mad Milk picture you first uploaded. -- Vi3trice (talk) 00:37, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

As an Ingredient

It needs to be said that this can be made into cow! Massive Mountain of Hat 02:30, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

No. The cow was an April Fool's joke.  – Awesome.png Ohyeahcrucz[T][C] 02:36, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Odd trivia

As of 3/10/2010; unlike Jarate, going into water will not wash off the milk.

I didn't notice a update, neither did this wiki. --CruelCow 13:08, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

i have noticed while i was playing scout that when i hit a cloaked spy with the mad milk, steam gave me the achievement "jarring transition" normally this is a sniper achievement to i thought this would be noteworthy this is was noted 10/10/2010 Sleepy eyed 04:12, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Another problem is that if you throw Mad Milk on a cloaked Spy he'll use one of the Jarate quotes. 10/10/2010 DJKing 12:27, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Confirmed on the achievement, got it by throwing mad milk at a cloaked spy a few minutes ago in Badwater. However, I dominated the spy, so it used the "Drink it up" quote Animalbrad 19:46, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Question

If an enemy is coated in mad milk and a sentry hits them, does the sentry get repaired for the damage? - Not an IP 15:52, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Removal of milk trivia

The point still stands that water will not remove the milk, unlike Jarate. I would think that this is noteworthy fact that should be on the page. Woogs 05:17, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Milk Trivia Quote Source?

I'm having a hard time finding the original quote that the milk supposedly came from cows infused with "sweet wholesome thermonuclear radiation" anywhere on the internet including the Mann-conomy update webpage. Do I put a [Citation needed] in this case or is this quote actually located somewhere? Alsoodani 18:24, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Alsoodani

It was on the original submission for the Polycount contest. You can find it on the overall pack's picture somewhere on the wiki, I forget the link.--Focusknock 18:26, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, your info helped me find the original source (polycount.com) of the quote! I added the source next to the quote on the Trivia section of Mad Milk. Alsoodani 19:40, 4 October 2010 (UTC)Alsoodani

Are we sure that it still comes from cows? The description does list it as being a non-milk substance and there have been other items that have been notably changed, such as the Tank Buster becoming the Black Box. On the other hand, it does not specify that it has to come from female cows...--AMRIV 06:56, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Milked Rocket/Stick Jump?

Has anyone tested to see if a Mad Milked Soldier or Demoman gets health back when rocket or sticky jumping? Deafblindmute 19:48, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

I just tested, the Mad Milk dosen't return health to the Soldier or Demoman when sticky/rocket jumping. Mysterious Island 03:08, 17 September 2011 (PDT)

Airblast

Anyone know if you can airblast Mad Milk? -- OluapPlayer (t) Howdy, pardner! 16:21, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

I don't see why not --Firestorm 16:22, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
You can airblast Jarate and I'm willing to bet a lot of the Mad Milk code was recycled from that, so the answer is probably yes. I personally haven't seen enough Mad Milk in-game to try it out though.-- Alex2539 16:25, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes it can. And the MM effect will be applied to enemy players as well. :D --Leftism 16:41, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Jarate Comparison

I feel that the the time taken for the Scout to throw Milk is slower compared to Jarate. Anyone willing to test this?--Focusknock 14:19, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

It takes the same amount of time to throw, and the bottles move at the same speed. Mysterious Island 03:12, 17 September 2011 (PDT)

New Question: A team colored glow?

Added a team colored glow to thrown Mad Milk. <- Hmm i missed that in the video a little bit(Yeah i have bad eyes etc...). How about the pause function and showin that effect more clearly? -Sorry but i didn't see the glow clearly because u see it from the scout vision and not from side maybe that would be better. Killicon big kill.png NoWhereMan(godlike11219)Bksr.PNG 20:41, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

It is not necessary. Milk is neutral to both teams. Rins :O (talk | contribs) 21:11, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

He is referring to the slight trail made by the milk that was added in a recent update, I don't believe a pause is needed though because despite the trail being very subtle I don't have a problem seeing it. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 21:51, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Bugs

One bug listed is that the Sniper achievements relating to Jarate can be achieved under the effects of Mad Milk - is the same true for the other achievements relating to Jarate? GJ 21:29, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

You can also get the Saturation Bombing Sniper Achievement by throwing mad milk as a scout and hitting enough people with it. Riz 13:57, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Southern Hospitality Bleeding work

It appears that Southern Hospitality works with the Mad Milk health gain where for every interval, one gains +2 health.

I'll try testing Tribalman's Shiv and see if it works too. I'm also unsure if the Pyro's Volcano Fragment will work, but I doubt it. Denmax 02:11, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Why wouldn't it? You get health with damage done, and damage is done each "tick" Balladofwindfishes 02:17, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Just a clarification since afterburn and the Boston Basher doesn't work on it Denmax 22:07, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

(minimal hud mode) HUD problems at 1024:768

I found problems with scout's HUD at 1024:768 resolution. If secondary item has recharge bar, it go off screen. If I equip other items with recharge bars (primary or melee) while have same secondary, the HUD goes normal, but when I unequip them the secondary recharge bar go off screen again. 2011082500001.jpg 2011082500002.jpg

Can somebody test this on their PC? Onotole 15:52, 4 September 2011 (PDT)

Time Spent Coated in Mad Milk cut by Healing: Bug or Feature?

Just as I tested with Jarate (see the Discussion Page), I tested healing cutting the time spent being coated in Mad Milk. Somehow the time spent being coated in Mad Milk is cut to 1/3rd of the normal time spent while being healed whereas Jarate is cut to half the time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHFYxpl4WGc TheKholdOne 15:40, 12 September 2011 (PDT)

Unlike the Jarate's page, it says nothing about this on the Mad Milk's page. If you have done the testing then feel free to add it this :) User M-NINJA Signature.png 18:16, 12 September 2011 (PDT)
Added. Also, as with Jarate, I feel this should be tested to get the exact amount of time healing cuts down and that could be added to Function times. TheKholdOne 21:04, 12 September 2011 (PDT)

Mad Milk and Taunt Kill

If I coat an enemy in Mad Milk, and taunt kill them with either the Sandman or Atomizer, I don't gain any health. Is that a bug? The preceding unsigned comment was added by FangLargo (talk) • (contribs) 06:48, 22 July 2012

About this question, it doesn't same manner as Mini-crit so I don't know it's bug or not. And Please sign your comment with "~~~~" (4 tildes). User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Hinaomi (talk) - (contributions) 19:41, 21 July 2012 (PDT)

Mad Milk and Pumpkin Bomb Bug - False

When thrown at Pumpkin bombs, the resulting explosion is capable of dealing damage to teammates as though they were enemies. False, the Mad Milk does not cause Pumpkin Bombs to harm teammates. Bug removed. [1] AbeX300 09:40, 1 December 2012 (PST)

Mad Milk get assist?

Idk this is mod or not but yesterday I threw a milk at enemy and I got assist. Can someone check? User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Hinaomi (talk) • (contributions) 19:34, 25 January 2013 (PST)

Dark and I did testing before to clean the assist page. Mad milk doesn't get assist for some reason. Might be a mod Ashes 19:47, 25 January 2013 (PST)

Implications Surrounding The Source Of Mad Milk

I wanted to add trivia or a line somewhere stating that "Since cow is commonly and informally used to mean bovine, and thus it is ambiguous as to the gender of the bovine in question, [Mad Milk being a non-milk substance] has some pretty nasty implications." Would that be insinuating against the "established facts", or would that be acceptable? ShylokVakarian (talk) 12:50, 24 March 2016 (PDT)

The radioactive cow part is considered "workshop" information and should not be noted as "canon".

The information regarding the milk coming from radioactive cows can only be seen on the creator's Polycount "promo" material (Polycount thread, archived) (while it does look like a Valve-made promo picture, I'm pretty sure that was made by the creator himself), I was unable to find this information on any official material. I think this should not be in the article. User Gabrielwoj Signature Icon.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 13:01, 14 September 2021 (UTC)

I think that only really breaks the trivia guidelines, however, if you wanna change back the bit to "non-milk substance" that's completely fine. I do think that the editnotice should stay.
GrampaSwood (talk) 13:13, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
Well, because there was no information regarding the cows in any official media, I would say discard it, even if it's not really part of a trivia (the editnotice could probably be updated to not mention the cows either, just warning people to not speculate what the milk really is, otherwise, people might see the editnotice and add the information back to the page again). We have previously removed information regarding info from "publicty blurbs" before. Also, any proof regarding the Trivia that this item was a Bonk Atomic Punch reskin? On the polycount pack thread, there is one post from the creator stating: "Anyways, you can use the milk to power up and help you "finish the job." I'll let Valve add their own specs.", this doesn't mean it's a Atomic Punch reskin, though (the thread is still up on the Internet, just the images (and most videos) that are not possible to view/watch, so I went through all pages). I'm with Gabrielwoj on this.
  1. That information is from pre-release material,
  2. Stating it's "radioactive cow milk" contradicts the in-game item type of "Non-Milk Substance",
  3. The publicity blurb in the quotation already states "we've carefully infused our cows with some sweet wholesome thermonuclear radiation", so readers don't have to be told a second time that it comes from radioactive cows. - BrazilianNut (talk) 15:51, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
