Info Dump: What is needed

Since beta access is currently limited, we need anyone who has a Self-Made or Community quality item. (Wiki Caps count) Valve said that anyone who has one will automatically have beta access. --User Dr. Scaphandre Golden Ghastly Gibus.png Dr. Scaphandre 20:06, 4 March 2016 (PST)

Again, there's my screenshots from yesterday morning stress-tests. There is pretty much everything: menu, lobby, waiting room, victory screens: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/825002/TF2/tf2comp_stresstest2016-03-04.rar Irvitzer (talk) 01:35, 5 March 2016 (PST)

cleanup?

Hi,
I've made an organized page, because this page is relly bad (and is linked from main page). If you want to improve this article, please doet here User:Tark/Competitive. All competitive medals are already uploaded, named as File:Competitive badge rank001.png to rank018. Please remove all speculations and poor text before "import" the content. Another note: If you're going to upload pics from Stress Tests (or Beta), remember to use only hiqual images (not steam screenshot). — The preceding assigned comment was added by Tark {Finish Him!Contribs} 09:04, 9 March 2016 (PST)

So are we going to do ranks in a table I presume?

Also Tark, don't forget the Beta disclaimer at the top. -- The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dr. Scaphandre (talk) • (contribs)

Yeah we would need a list of ranks/divisions probably but that won't be for awhile. Ashes (talk) 12:36, 9 March 2016 (PST)

Rank table testing

Testing different tables, feel free to edit/discuss

The images include the rank # and the rank name, but the rank # is not clearly visible

The rank icons could be cropped

Trying different background colours to make the Rank # readable

It is A/D Gorge, not 5CP Gorge

5CP Gorge appears on the list of maps of the competitive mode, which is wrong. Competitive has A/D Gorge, not 5CP Gorge. Thanks. Communism is the way (talk) 17:11, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

cp_5gorge is not on the list. It is cp_gorge, which has the game mode Control Point (Attack/Defend). — Sam (a.k.a. cnoe) 17:59, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
Oh, then the gamemode is wrong. It says it's Control Point, not Attack/Defend. Communism is the way (talk) 13:34, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
Attack/Defend is a type of Control Point gamemode. See Control Point (game mode). I was going to suggest adding the type of the gamemode in parantheses but since Gorge is the only map exists with both gamemode types, and under different names (symmetrical Gorge is called 5gorge), this addition would be redundant. There shouldn't be any confusion. — Sam (a.k.a. cnoe) 19:49, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

Enabled/Disabled console commands

Hey. I almost never played Competitive Mode, but I know for a fact that certain console commands and ConVars are blocked on Competitive Mode. For example, the command "hud_saytext_time X" is set back to "hud_saytext_time 12" when entering a competitive match, and I think you cannot change the values while being on the match. Should we list all blocked commands and ConVars somewhere? I just don't know if it should be on this page, or the Console page. Thanks. I know this question may be silly

But Dereko wonders what's the "MMR" mentioned in the update history?

Changed the timeout before a missing player is marked as having abandoned a competitive match to be three minutes from the first time a player disconnects from the server, rather than from the moment the match is formed.
Moved the Competitive MMR change notification so it no longer overlaps your rank.

MMR is your MatchMaking Rank, it is used to determine your skill and match you with opponents/teammates of similar skill level

Many thanks.
Dereko is thanking Swood for help.

Owning a Community quality item.

I remember during the Stress Test, you could play competitively only by owning a Community quality item. I think I was on the Steam Group, but I did not had Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator on my account back then, and despite that, I still could play the Stress Test. I think I also had the Competitive Matchmaking Beta Pass back then (since I have a Competitive Matchmaking Beta Invite on my backpack). The article doesn't seem to mention about owning a Community quality item as an eligible factor. Accuracy

Has the following claim been confirmed by developers? I do not see any references or links to a credible source. The official TF2 website does not appear to contain pertinent information either.
