Shiny
Well, I hope this is the right place to put community questions, most wikis do this, and I don't see any other place that would be designed to ask questions. I'd like to know the rationale behind having inter-language edits all in the same namespace (such as Heavy/ru). Would it not make more sence to have the russian articles in a seperate namespace (i.e. ru:Heavy). This would allow the inter-language links to be better described, allow users to ignore namespaces that aren't in a language that they know in RC and make the system smoother. - On the old wiki we didn't have this capability, but we may be doing just this in no time at all. I have been considering it, I'll speak to Robin. -- Smashman... (t • s) 00:43, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- Good idea, but is that going to need some coding? Darkman 4 00:43, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Usefulness
This page is given to high of a prominence on the wiki for the purpose it serves. Even since becoming official we don't have enough information that people need to be regularly updated on to form a news feed. Mostly this just serves as fluff, and as promotion for the links in the weblinks section. We need a much cleaner place that people can get the information they need on contributing and finding the information they want. seb's index comes to mind for the latter part. I imagine it would be somewhat like an extension to the front page. (This also makes me question about the value of the hundreds of links on the front page). Not sure if anything I just said actually forms a coherent idea, but what do you think? -- Pilk (talk) 12:00, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
