500 hours as Engineer?
Wow, bet you're loving the Engineer update. -- Smashman... (t • s) 08:13, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- What do you think of the Wrangler? -- Smashman... (t • s) 08:13, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
The Wrangler is going to be AWESOME! I just hope play testing has not found the Wrangler to be too awesome. But, it does facilitate teamwork...two engineers...one with Wrangler and the other healing his Sentry will be very hard to beat. On the other hand, the Engineer will be able to do his own spy checking which frees up the heavies and pyros that used to do that job. Bonk will no longer be as useful against the wrangler, but as always an Uber can take it out.
The 100th Golden Wrench was just found...this is going to be totally cool. Rockn-Roll 23:48, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
"Cosmetic"
Not trying to antagonize you, but you keep talking about Barbies whenever someone uses that word. It doesn't just mean lipstick and mascara, it refers to anything meant to improve appearances. Just thought I would clarify.--Karonen 13:07, 10 November 2011 (PST)
- WRONG! Before posting here you should have looked the word up in a dictionary, for example Dictionary.com...after weeding through the advertisements for lipstick and mascara you will see the following:
- cos·met·ic [koz-met-ik]
- noun
- 1. a powder, lotion, lipstick, rouge, or other preparation for beautifying the face, skin, hair, nails, etc.
- 2. cosmetics, superficial measures to make something appear better, more attractive, or more impressive: The budget committee opted for cosmetics instead of a serious urban renewal plan.
- adjective
- 3. serving to beautify; imparting or improving beauty, especially of the face.
- 4. used or done superficially to make something look better, more attractive, or more impressive: Alterations in the concert hall were only cosmetic and did nothing to improve the acoustics.
- World English Dictionary
- cosmetic (kɒzˈmɛtɪk)
- —n
- 1. any preparation applied to the body, esp the face, with the intention of beautifying it
- —adj
- 2. serving or designed to beautify the body, esp the face
- 3. having no other function than to beautify: cosmetic illustrations in a book
- 4. derogatory designed to cover up a greater flaw or deficiency; superficial: their resignation is a cosmetic exercise
- Merriam-Webster
- 1cos·met·ic adj \käz-ˈme-tik\
- Definition of COSMETIC
- 1 of, relating to, or making for beauty especially of the complexion : beautifying <cosmetic salves>
- 2 done or made for the sake of appearance: as a: correcting defects especially of the face <cosmetic surgery> b: decorative, ornamental c: not substantive : superficial <cosmetic changes>
- 3 visually appealing
- So, CAN it be used for Team Fortress 2 features which are superficial? Sure, but the primary use of the word is for makeup. A much better choice of word would be superficial which has a primary meaning of only effecting the surface and is a more technical term than cosmetic.Rockn-Roll 14:12, 10 November 2011 (PST)
