Numbered?
While i was on a trade server i saw some people selling the new hats (villains veil, team captain etc.) numbered. Eg. Selling Villain's Veil #3 He told me that his best offer so far was a max head or ghost sola topai. I said that was a ridiculous price for a hat that would go down in value but apparently the number 3 means alot :/ Can anyone tell me what this is about? Pierow 10:00, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- The early crafters of the new hats got a number on them ranging from #1 to #100(?). Also, prices are subjective. – Ohyeahcrucz [T][C] 10:03, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- I think they go past #100 too - and yes, low digit numbers can fetch some hefty prices. biz 10:07, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- The ones that go past #100 don't show up in-game, but they show up in backpack viewers. – Ohyeahcrucz [T][C] 10:09, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Ah okay, thanks for clearing that up. biz 10:12, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

New versions of the pictures
The styles gallerys on this page don't represent how the images actually look ingame. This might be the fault of Model Viewer, though I'm not completely certain. Anyway, all of the images in the Smooth Assassin and Trained Killer sections need to be redone and reuploaded. If someone can figure out the the best way to get the images looking like they should in Model Viewer, please do so. Thanks. -- En Ex (talk) 21:01, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Indeed, the fire overlay is especially visible on any of the black version of the Veil. It may cause quite a bit of confusion -- Firestorm 14:47, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
Similarity
I'm relatively sure that at least ONE of you folks has played Call of Duty. Then, you might remember that Ghost, Captain MacTavish's right hand man, has a most memorable bandanna. Just like the Trained Killer one. The resemblance is striking, and although I don't think it's an actual reference, it might be worth taking a look at. Who made these styles, anyway? Valve or P®OOf? Fyahweather 13:35, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- While there is a resemblance, Skull Bandanas have existed for quite some time. It's not something Modern Warfare created so it's not really a reference. -- Firestorm 14:21, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- Wait, this was a community-created misc item? Or was it just the styles? biz 17:14, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- If you can get the creator of the item to say so, then it's true. Until then, it's just speculation. Just a Gigolo - (talk) 17:26, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for clearing that up. I suppose that we'll have to search for the fellow. I mean, the styles for the Googly Gazer were made by the creator, but Valve made the Blighted Beak styles. Fyahweather 02:54, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Actually the alternate Beak style was made by one of the original creator, Pie_tony (who is also working on styles for a bunch of other hats). Mutated 21:42, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

The Skull style for the bandana does not reference MW2 in anyway. It is just a skull bandana. Besides, Ghost has a full face mask while this is just a bandana. Fate Soul Blake 16:45, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
CoD in TF2?
Does someone have noticed that the Trained Killer Style has a simiular design as this one? The Noble Scout (T/C) 08:17, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- The designs don't really seem that similar to me, the actual type of wear is different (Bandanna/Balaclava,) and skulls/skull mouths on apparel has been a rather popular thing for a while, so even if it is similar, I doubt it's an actual reference to it. - nixshadow • t|c 07:24, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- Even if the Villain's Veil is a bandana and the example i showed is a snowmask, it wasn't ment to be a reference between them due to the design but they are very look-a-like i think.

- Oh, well the wiki isn't really a place to make a conversation about "this looks like this," if you didn't mean for it to be added as a reference, may I ask you take this to SUF? That is a better place for what I guess is general conversations. also, gonna mention this here, but the image in your signature is causing odd spaces between talk lines, may I ask that you make it smaller or remove it? Thanks - nixshadow • t|c 08:00, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Trivia
I added a bit in the trivia section about the veil being unsuual. It had been up for debate since it is a misc item, but one was recently unboxed. [1]--The Blueberry Villain 18:50, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, well that's you opinion. I'm sure there are some curious if it can be unusual like the beak or phantom. Unlike the procedure mask. I guess I'm over ruled.--The Blueberry Villain 18:53, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- The Beak and Phantom pages don't have this as a trivia either. On top of that, if people are curious which hats and misc can be unusual, they can check this page. Hefaistus - talk 18:58, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out and explaining it to me hefaistus. As someone who uses this website a fair bit of time, I must say finiding that link isn't the intutive.--The Blueberry Villain 19:01, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Incorrect page info
The page clearly states: "This item has two unique styles. The 'Smooth Assassin' style adds a paisley pattern, and the 'Trained Killer' style adds a skull design." However, there are currently 3 styles for the Villain's Veil in game, the two already listed and a third called "Hired Gun" that is a plain color. The pictures for all of the item's painted variants even have all three styles included. This should be fixed, right?
