Template talk:Languages
Incorrect operation on sub pages
I've been trying to use this on some of my child templates, and except at the root level, this doesn't appear to operate. For example Template:Control_Point_Timing/Official_Map/de always shows the word 'Language' in English, and I had to use {{Languages|{{#titleparts: {{FULLPAGENAME}} | -1 }}}}
on that page to get the link bar to even see its siblings. Is there plans to, or may I try to, correct this? --Org 03:25, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
pt-pt and pt-br
The Portuguese of Portugal and Brazil is the same language. The only thing that changes are the meanings of some words. It would be the same as the English of the United States and England. Therefore, it will only make more difficult the work of translating the wiki for Portuguese.
So, I'm deleting the pt-br.

Fix
This template seems to fail to show 'English' on Category pages (for example, Category:Valve/ru), I believe it's the following line causing the error:
'''[[{{{1|{{#titleparts:{{FULLPAGENAME}}|1}}}}}|English]]'''
I tested it out and it appears that replacing it with this line from Template:Languages in the MediaWiki documentation seems to fix it (and would likely fix problems if they existed in other namespaces, also):
'''[[{{{1|:{{NAMESPACE}}:{{BASEPAGENAME}}}}}|English]]'''

Im having some Problems with this page. The language bar doesnt work properly. --Picard 07:42, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sometimes it takes a little for the page's cache on the server to clear. Add
?action=purge
to the end of the URL to force the page cache to be purged. It appears to be working now. -- Pilk (talk) 07:48, 8 August 2010 (UTC)- Thank you. :D --Picard 08:00, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
