Trade-Up is a feature that allows players to upgrade the grade of their Decorated weapons. It is accessible from a sub-menu via the backpack.

Inputs

Trade-Up requires ten Decorated weapons of the same grade. Decorated weapons are obtainable through completing campaign contracts, or by opening a weapon case obtained from completing campaign contracts. Weapons may be of any wear, but must all be of the same grade (Civilian, Freelance, Mercenary, etc.). Stat-Clock Decorated weapons may also be accepted, although Unusual Decorated weapons are prohibited.

Output

After confirming the input of the required number of Decorated weapons, the player receives one Decorated weapon of the next higher grade. If ten Civilian Decorated weapons were submitted, one Freelance Decorated weapon is received; ten Mercenary Decorated weapons yields one Commando Decorated weapon, and so on. If all submitted Decorated weapons were Strange, then the output is also Strange.

The resulting weapon is selected at random from one of the same collection(s) as the originating weapons. If ten weapons from the Teufort Collection were submitted, the result will also be from the Teufort Collection. If weapons from multiple collections are used, then the weapon received will be from one of those collections as well.

The wear of the received weapon is calculated based on the average wear of all submitted weapons. Therefore, inputting ten Battle-Scarred Civilian Grade Decorated weapons will result in one Battle-Scarred Freelance Grade Decorated weapon; however, if ten Factory New Commando Grade Decorated weapons are used, then the result will be a Factory New Assassin Grade Decorated weapon.
