Gun Mettle Campaign

The Gun Mettle Campaign was a three-month event introduced in the Gun Mettle Update in which players could complete skill-based contracts to be awarded one-of-a-kind weapons and exclusive weapon cases. Participation in the event required a Gun Mettle Campaign Pass. Using the Campaign Pass converted it to a Gravel Gun Mettle Campaign Coin. This Campaign Pass was not available for sale during the last month of the event.

Contracts

Participating players were granted two contracts each week during the event. These contracts could be completed at any time during the event, but players lost access to uncompleted contracts when the event ended. Players who joined the Campaign after the initial week had access to the same number of contracts as players who joined on day one.

Each contract had a number of skill-based objectives that awarded Contract Points (CP) upon completion. These included one or more Advanced objectives that awarded Bonus CP. To complete a contract, players had to earn a total of 100 CP from that contract's objectives. They could then turn in the contract immediately, or earn an optional 30 Bonus CP by completing Advanced objectives. When a contract was completed, the player was awarded a Campaign-exclusive weapon skin or weapon case. The contract's CP was also added to the player's CP total listed on their Campaign Coin.

When decoding or completing a Contract while connected to an officially registered server, players would have heard one of Miss Pauling's voice responses, based on the class currently being played.

Notes

  • All assists count as kills, with the exception of Sentry Gun kills.
  • Completing a contract with an advanced objective will cause the points gained to overfill into the bonus contract's scoring.
  • Objectives trigger multiple times in a single life if the requirements are met a second time. For example, getting 10 kills in one life will count a "get 5 kills in one life" objective twice.
  • Medic's advanced objectives require the stock Medi Gun's ÜberCharge; no other medigun option can achieve them.

Bugs

  • Kills with reflected Cow Mangler 5000 blasts don't count for "reflected projectile kill" objective.
  • The "5 kills with one Sentry Gun" objective's kill count is maintained between rounds as long as the player's sentry is not destroyed at any point.
  • The "5 kills with one Sentry Gun" objective sometimes can be triggered with Rescue Ranger kills.

Campaign Coin

Upon entering the Campaign, players were given a Gravel Gun Mettle Campaign Coin. This non-tradable coin made the player eligible to receive weekly campaign contracts. It also tracked the player's total Campaign Contract Points (CP), Contract Bonus Points, Contracts Completed, and Contract Kills. The badge increased in quality for every 1000 CP earned during the event.

Campaign Weapons

Main article: Decorated

Each contract a player completed awarded them a Campaign-exclusive weapon skin or weapon case. These weapons are statistically identical to their standard counterparts, but have a cosmetic texture applied to them. These textures are uniquely positioned on each weapon to make them look slightly different from other weapons with the same skin. Weapon skins come in six different rarities and five levels of wear. Weapons that come from cases can have the Strange quality, can more rarely be Unusual, and in the rarest cases can be both.

Skins applied on weapons have a randomly positioned pattern. Only one of the possible placements is shown below.

The Teufort Collection

The Teufort Collection is one of two weapon skin collections available from completing Gun Mettle contracts. It is collection of weapon skins based on the various textures found in 2Fort, such as wooden planks, metal plate, and dirt ground.

The Craftsmann Collection

The Craftsmann Collection is the second weapon skin collection available from completing Gun Mettle contracts. It is a collection of skins focusing on a DIY-like project, having most guns painted in a way that makes them seem made from household materials and/or fabrics. The team color variants mostly apply to materials with a plaid pattern.

The Concealed Killer Collection

The Concealed Killer Collection is one of two weapon skin collections only available through opening weapon cases obtained during the Gun Mettle Campaign. To obtain a weapon with this skin, players must unbox a Concealed Killer Weapons Case. This collection focuses on military-style camouflage skins of various colors and patterns.

The Powerhouse Collection

The Powerhouse Collection is the second weapon skin collection only available though Gun Mettle Campaign weapon cases. To obtain a weapon with this skin, players must open a Powerhouse Weapons Case. The primary focus of this collection is bright patterns, resembling electricity and power station logos, some of which are related to the map Powerhouse.

Rarities

Weapons awarded during the Gun Mettle Campaign were of one of six different rarities. Weapons awarded for completed a contract were from the first four grades. Weapons obtained by unlocking weapons crates were from grades 3-6.
