This is the juggernaut of all the Soldier robots and it's arguably the strongest robot in the entire game. Similar to the Giant Soldier and the Giant Burst Fire Soldier, it will not fire until it has a full clip reloaded. When it does, it will shoot all of its crit rockets in rapid succession, killing anyone who is unaware or even too close to the attack. All players must take extreme caution to eliminate this robotic threat, as its extremely high health, health regeneration and crit-boosted rockets can be a major problem. This robot is the final boss of the mission Broken Parts (Operation Mecha Engine, Bigrock) and he will only be supported by Snipers and Spies, although there is plenty of available cash to deal with it. | This is the juggernaut of all the Soldier robots and it's arguably the strongest robot in the entire game. Normal variants
Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
— |
Soldier bots behave like human Soldiers, rushing into battle with their Rocket Launchers as a primary means of attack.
By itself, the Soldier bot isn't a terrible threat, but nothing in this game mode comes "alone". A squad of Soldier bots quickly becomes a problem, as the defenders may be faced with a barrage of rockets coming their way. Soldier Robots reload when they have time, and fire when they see an enemy.
Soldier (Type 2)
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Soldier | Cow Mangler 5000 |
— |
This rare variant of the Soldier-bot carries the Cow Mangler 5000; their 80% damage reduction to buildings means they pose less of a threat to an Engineer's buildings. They are otherwise identical to a normal Soldier-bot. They do not fire charged shots. This Soldier-bot variant only appears in wave 2 of Bavarian Botbash. (Operation Two Cities, Rottenburg)
Direct Hit Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Direct Hit Soldier | Direct Hit |
— |
This rare Soldier-bot variant uses the Direct Hit. The +80% increased projectile speed allows this Soldier-bot to kill enemies from far range easier, but with some difficulty when a target strafes outside of close range. This Soldier-bot is only seen on the second wave of Cataclysm. (Operation Gear Grinder, Coaltown)
Direct Hit Soldier (Type 2)
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Direct Hit Soldier | Direct Hit |
Robot is a Gatebot 100% critical chance |
This variant of Gatebot Soldier-bot wields a crit-boosted Direct Hit, allowing them to deal out a lot of pain. They are only seen near the end of the final wave of Empire Escalation and they are assisted by Uber Medics (Type 2).
Crit Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Crit Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
100% crit chance +100% damage bonus +180% faster reload rate +40% faster firing speed |
This advanced variant of the single Soldier-bot can easily mow down any player without crit/blast resistance. They appear in large groups, and their critical rockets, which deal double damage, can become a real problem for the defenders. Critical soldiers fire their rockets much faster than any other non-giant Soldier bot and will attack at an infinite rate because of their very fast reload speed, much like a Giant Rapid Fire Soldier. These robots only appear in Caliginous Caper and Broken Parts.
Crit Soldier (Type 2)
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Crit Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
100% crit chance +180% faster reload rate +40% faster firing speed |
This variant of the Crit Soldier bot is identical to the first variant, with the only difference being that it lacks the damage bonus the first variant has. This variant only appears on the first wave of Broken Parts.
Buff Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Buff Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
Buff Banner |
Spawns with full rage |
Buff Soldiers have Buff Banners and start with full rage. They use their banners as soon as they spawn, and can be dangerous if fought right when they enter the map. If they fully refill their rage by dealing damage on players, they will reuse their buff. This type of Soldier is especially deadly when combined with other, stronger robots, and should be taken out after any medics and Extended Banner Soldiers in the wave.
Extended Banner Soldier (Type 1-3)
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Extended Buff Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
Buff Banner |
Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration |
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Extended Backup Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
Battalion's Backup |
Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration |
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Extended Conch Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
Concheror |
Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration |
With banner rage duration that last up to 90 seconds long, these Soldiers can keep their allies beefed up for most of their journey across the map. They come in Buff Banner, Battalion's Backup and Concheror variants. These types of soldiers can break a defense with their crit immunity, mini-crit, or heal-on-hit + speed granting capabilities, and must be taken out alongside any Medic bots that are in the wave.
Extended Banner Soldier (Type 4)
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Soldier | Direct Hit |
Buff Banner |
Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration |
This extremely rare Soldier is a force to be reckoned with. It combines the extra damage of the Direct Hit and the 90-second buff of an Extended Buff Soldier. These robots are only seen on the final wave of Cataclysm. Oddly, it does not use the correct icon and name.
Extended Banner Soldier (Type 5)
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Hat | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Soldier | Direct Hit |
Buff Banner |
Defiant Spartan |
Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration +100% damage bonus |
This Soldier is only seen in Caliginous Caper. However, they spawn in a massive group so the defending team will be faced with a wall of double-damage mini-crit rockets. These soldiers can wipe out an entire team if they are not dealt with quick enough. These Soldiers can also deal much more damage force to enemies with their +100% damage bonus buff. The damage force they deal can cause their enemies to fly up high into the air. Oddly, this Soldier-bot variant use the regular Soldier name and icon. As they can instantly kill every class (with their Buff Banner activated) with full overheal except for Heavies, players should prioritize killing these Soldier robots first.
Black Box Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Black Box Soldier | Black Box |
Fires 3 rockets at once +25% larger blast radius +10% faster reload Rockets heal 60 HP individually +100% faster firing speed -67% damage dealt +2 degree rocket spread Does not fire until fully reloaded |
This Soldier heals itself upon hitting an enemy. To ensure a full recovery of damage taken, it fires 3 rockets at once.
Blast Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Blast Soldier | Liberty Launcher |
Fires 3 rockets at once Rockets knock back enemies +20% larger blast radius +100% faster firing speed -55% damage dealt -50% slower reload speed -2 rockets in clip +2 degree rocket spread Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Blast Soldiers can send players flying across the map, making it very difficult to hit the robot horde. A bug with these Soldiers is that they start with the regular clip size of the Liberty Launcher, and so fire 5 rockets at once when they first enter the map.
Giant Robots
Giant Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
A Giant version of the regular Soldier robots with greatly increased health and slower movement speed but wields the same Rocket Launcher as its smaller counterpart.
Giant Rapid Fire Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Rapid Fire Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance +50% faster fire rate +180% faster reload -50% movement speed -35% projectile speed |
Giant Rapid Fire Soldiers fire rockets continuously at a faster rate than regular Giant Soldiers, but their rockets are slower.
Giant Burst Fire Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Burst Fire Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance +5 rockets in clip 40% faster reload rate +90% faster firing speed -50% movement speed -35% slower projectile speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Giant Burst Fire Soldier is a giant bot that will shoot a flurry of rockets that are shot out in a very rapid succession. Players should be aware of when it's firing and when it's reloading; being unaware or inattentive will likely result in a quick death.
Giant Burst Fire Soldier (Type 2)
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Burst Fire Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
4200 HP +60% knockback resistance 100% crit chance +100% damage dealt +5 rockets in clip +60% faster reload rate +80% faster firing speed -50% movement speed -10% slower projectile speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
This robot is similar to the first type of Giant Burst Fire Soldier, but it deals double damage and has a 100% critical hit chance. Although it does fire slightly slower than its other variant, this robot's attack can be deadly as the rockets move faster and deal more damage.
Giant Charged Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Charged Soldier | Original |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance 100% crit chance +80% faster reload -50% movement speed -50% projectile speed -100% slower fire rate |
Equipped with the Original, Giant Charged Soldiers always fire critical hit rockets. The rockets move slowly and fire slowly, though, at half the speed of a regular rocket's speed and fire rate, and can be easily dodged by wary players. Notably, the Giant Charged Soldier's aiming capabilities is worse than other Giant Soldier variants.[note 1]
Giant Buff Banner Soldier, Giant Backup Soldier and Giant Concheror Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Giant Buff Banner Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
Buff Banner |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Giant Battalion Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
Battalion's Backup |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Icon | Name | Primary | Secondary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Giant Concheror Soldier | Rocket Launcher |
Concheror |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance Spawns with full rage +800% longer buff duration -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Giant versions of the Extended Banner Soldiers. The only differences is that these bots have more health and also move slower. The same strategy from the other banner robots apply here. Notably, they appear in the second wave of Bavarian Botbash wherein all three variants appear as a squad, which enables them (and other robots) to benefit from all three banner effects.
Giant Black Box Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Black Box Soldier | Black Box |
Fires 3 rockets at once 4200 HP +60% knockback resistance +25% larger blast radius Rockets heal 1000 HP individually +100% faster firing speed -50% movement speed -55% damage dealt -60% slower reload -10% projectile speed +4 degree rocket spread Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Similar to its smaller counterpart, it has the ability to heal itself upon hitting an enemy, and fires 3 rockets in a single blast. A Medic's Projectile Shield upgrade, a Heavy's Minigun ability to deflect projectiles, and a Pyro's Compression blast can help destroy or reflect the projectiles. This can make it much easier to destroy these giants. It can easily carry the bomb all the way to the hatch or capture a gate if it keeps dealing out damage to heal itself.
Giant Black Box Soldier (Type 2)
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Black Box Soldier | Black Box |
Fires 3 rockets at once Robot is a Gatebot 4200 HP +25% larger blast radius +100% faster firing speed Rockets heal 1000 HP individually +60% knockback resistance Does not fire until fully reloaded -60% slower reload -10% projectile speed -55% damage dealt +4 degree rocket spread -50% movement speed |
This variant of the Giant Black Box Soldier has similar stats with the first type of the Giant Black Box Soldier, but deals less damage with their rockets when all gates have been captured. They only make an appearance in Empire Escalation's Wave 2 and 5 along with other bots.
Giant Blast Soldier
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Giant Blast Soldier | Liberty Launcher |
3800 HP +60% knockback resistance Extra +90% vertical airblast resistance +5 rockets in clip +75% faster firing speed +80% faster reload rate +20% larger blast radius Rockets knock back enemies -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded -25% damage dealt +4 degree rocket spread |
Fires a small burst of rockets to send any player flying around the map, unless they are under Megaheal influence or disguised.
Colonel Barrage
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Colonel Barrage | Rocket Launcher |
4000 HP +60% knockback resistance Extra +90% vertical airblast resistance Regenerates 40 HP per second +50% damage dealt +26 rockets in clip +78% faster reload rate +80% faster firing speed -50% movement speed -60% projectile speed +5 degree rocket spread Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Releases a slow-moving wall of rockets at players that is difficult to dodge either in enclosed spaces or open areas.
Major Crits
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Major Crits | Rocket Launcher |
Robot is a Gatebot 4200 HP +60% knockback resistance Extra +90% vertical airblast resistance Regenerates 40 HP per second 100% crit chance +50% damage dealt +26 rockets in clip +60% faster reload rate +80% faster firing speed -50% movement speed -75% projectile speed +5 degree rocket spread Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Fires a slow-moving wall of rockets at players and has a large health pool to help it endure damage long enough to fire again at any surviving enemies. One can always find them paired with a Giant Medic in wave 4 of Empire Escalation (Operation Two Cities, Mannhattan) This robot is essentially a crit-boosted version of the aforementioned Colonel Barrage, but reloads slower, and fires rockets that move slightly slower.
Bosses
These robots are the Giants of the Giants. Although they move at the same speed, they possess significantly more health, more firepower, and larger size. Luckily, there are health bars displaying their health status when they're alive.
Major Crits (Type 2)
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Major Crits | Rocket Launcher |
1.7x larger in size 32,000 HP +60% knockback resistance Extra +90% vertical airblast resistance Provides 90% less rage to enemies Regenerates 40 HP per second 100% crit chance +50% damage dealt +26 rockets in clip +60% faster reload rate +80% faster firing speed -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded +5 degree rocket spread -65% projectile speed |
Similar to the non-boss Major Crits, but has 32,000 health from the previous 4200 HP. Otherwise, they're identical. The Medic's shield is possibly one of the best defensive counter to them. This robot only appears in the 4th wave of Metro Malice (Operation Two Cities, Mannhattan. Appears 1 wave before the stronger type of Chief Blast Soldier). 37 seconds after it's deployed, 4 Force-A-Nature Super Scouts with the bomb will appear from upstairs, it's best to have them halted and killed before the entire team refocuses on Major Crits again. This boss has the least health out of every robot boss in the game.
Chief Blast Soldier
Their rockets are not crit-boosted and don't have any damage bonuses, making them the least damaging Soldier boss in the game. However, their rockets have insane knockback power, enough to send a Heavy flying across the map. Bodyblocking (standing in the robot's path) can be mildly effective until the robot notices, which then they will shoot defenders to knock them out of its way. Heavies can be ineffective against it since the knockback can force Heavies to reposition themselves several times in one fight.
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Chief Blast Soldier | Liberty Launcher |
1.8x larger in size 35,000 HP +60% knockback resistance Extra +90% vertical airblast resistance Provides 85% less rage to enemies +5 rockets in clip +75% faster firing speed +60% faster reload rate +20% larger blast radius Rockets knock back enemies -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded +4 degree rocket spread |
The first variation only appears in the 5th wave of Big Apple Barricade (No-tour mission, Mannhattan). Both variations are exactly the same except in health values.
Chief Blast Soldier (Type 2)
Icon | Name | Primary | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|
Chief Blast Soldier | Liberty Launcher |
1.8x larger in size 58,000 HP +60% knockback resistance Extra +90% vertical airblast resistance Provides 85% less rage +5 rockets in clip +75% faster firing speed +60% faster reload rate +20% larger blast radius Rockets knock back enemies -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded +4 degree rocket spread |
The second variation of Chief Blast Soldier appears in the 5th wave of Metro Malice (Operation Two Cities, Mannhattan). It has about 65% more health than its Big Apple Barricade variant.
Sergeant Crits
Icon | Name | Primary | Hat | Attributes |
---|---|---|---|---|
Sergeant Crits | Rocket Launcher |
Tyrant's Helm |
1.9x larger in size 60,000 HP +60% knockback resistance Extra +90% vertical airblast resistance Provides 90% less rage to enemies Regenerates 250 HP per second 100% crit chance +50% damage dealt +7 rockets in clip +30% faster projectile speed +40% faster reload rate +80% faster firing speed -50% movement speed Does not fire until fully reloaded |
Unused content
- There is an unused version of Major Crits that uses the Black Box, wears the Team Captain, Gunboats and Fancy Dress Uniform, and has only 40000 HP. It is referred to as

- There is an unused boss variant of the Giant Concheror Soldier called "Chief Concheror Soldier" except it is larger and has 50,000 HP.
- According to disabled code in Empire Escalation, it reveals that this robot would have appeared in the final wave. However, it would be critboosted and its health would have been halved to 25,000 HP.

giant_soldier_explode.wav
