Unique quality is the item quality assigned to items distributed through the item drop system during gameplay, rewarded through achievements, crafted, purchased from the Mann Co. Store, or obtained via applying a Name Tag or Description Tag on Normal quality items. As such, Unique is regarded as the "default" quality for items, and has no unique name prefix (with the exception of some items which have "The" before their name).
The hexadecimal color code for Unique items is #FFD700, a golden yellow.
